1. Reason for the Job
The sealing of the fan cowl door aerodynamic strake fastener holes is done when a spare fan cowl door, with initially a fitted strake, is installed on an aircraft model or at a fan cowl door position where a strake is not required.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-13-15-941-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-13-15-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Seal the Fan Cowl Door Aerodynamic Strake Fastener Holes
NOTE: The sealing of the aerodynamic strake fastener holes on the right and left fan cowl door is the same.
   (1) Use the DC1200 primer.
     (a) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED to apply primer 1200 (Material No.CP2244) on the strake fastener holes. Apply the primer at least 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) more than the hole sealant area.
   (2) Let the primer dry for a minimum of 30 minutes.
   (3) Use the sealant.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Mix the DC93-006 (Material No.CP2497) , refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
   (4) Seal the strake fastener holes with the DC93-006 (Material No.CP2497) . The sealant should make a continuous surface on the two sides of the fan cowl.
   (5) Use a textile-lint free cotton Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to remove any unwanted sealant.
5. Close-up
Subtask 71-13-15-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
