A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(2) On panel 22VU, make sure that the ON legend of the MAN START pushbutton switch is off.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the MAN START pushbutton switch.

(4) On panel 30VU, make sure that the ON legend of the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is off.
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the APU BLEED pushbutton switch.
(6) Make sure that no pneumatic ground cart is connected.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-13-01-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the Fan Cowl Hinge Beam
(1) Removal of the protection covers:
(3) Install the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS on the thread of the bolts (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(4) Put the hinge beam assembly (3) in the forward hinge on the left fan cowl.
(5) Install the bolt (4) in the forward hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3) from the forward side.
(a) If you cannot install the bolt (4) easily on the hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3), carefully use the PUNCH - FLAT-END and the HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD to install it.
(6) Remove the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS from the bolt (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(7) Attach the bolt (4) to the hinge beam assembly (3) with the washer (2) and the nut (1).
(8) Put the hinge beam assembly (3) in the forward hinge on the right fan cowl.
(9) Install the bolt (4) in the forward hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3) from the forward side.
(a) If you cannot install the bolt (4) easily on the hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3), carefully use the PUNCH - FLAT-END and the HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD to install it.
(10) Remove the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS from the bolt (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(11) Attach the bolt (4) to the hinge beam assembly (3) with the washer (2) and the nut (1).
(12) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 395 and 350 lbf.in (4.46 and 3.96 m.daN )

5. Close-up(1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FAN COWL DOOR IS SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED DURING REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. THE FAN COWL DOOR WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 100 LBS (45.5 KG). IF IT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED, INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
(2) Put the hinge beam assembly (3) between the engine and the pylon adjacent to the forward hinges on the left and right fan cowl doors. (3) Install the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS on the thread of the bolts (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(4) Put the hinge beam assembly (3) in the forward hinge on the left fan cowl.
(5) Install the bolt (4) in the forward hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3) from the forward side.
(a) If you cannot install the bolt (4) easily on the hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3), carefully use the PUNCH - FLAT-END and the HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD to install it.
(6) Remove the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS from the bolt (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(7) Attach the bolt (4) to the hinge beam assembly (3) with the washer (2) and the nut (1).
(8) Put the hinge beam assembly (3) in the forward hinge on the right fan cowl.
(9) Install the bolt (4) in the forward hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3) from the forward side.
(a) If you cannot install the bolt (4) easily on the hinge and the hinge beam assembly (3), carefully use the PUNCH - FLAT-END and the HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD to install it.
(10) Remove the 636GSE2006-901 FC HINGE BOLT THREAD PROTECTORS from the bolt (4). Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
(11) Attach the bolt (4) to the hinge beam assembly (3) with the washer (2) and the nut (1).
(12) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 395 and 350 lbf.in (4.46 and 3.96 m.daN )
. Subtask 71-13-01-942-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Adjust the left and right fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-820-802).
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
447AL, 448AR.
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Adjust the left and right fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-820-802).
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
