A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Depressurize the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the rudder.

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 326.
(2) Open trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325DR and 325ER (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-010-001).
Subtask 55-40-00-010-060-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 326.
(2) Open trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325DR and 325ER (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-010-001).
NOTE: The trailing edge access-panels are open to help the accurate marking of the inspection areas.
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 326.
(2) Open trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-010-002).
Subtask 55-40-00-860-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 326.
(2) Open trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-010-002).
NOTE: The trailing edge access-panels are open to help the accurate marking of the inspection areas.
D. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Non structural use - - (Material No.08BPA1) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Non-destructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Non structural use - - (Material No.08BPA1) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Non-destructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
Subtask 55-40-00-280-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection of the rudder side panels (on the left and right sides) for damage or discontinuities NTM 554003. Do this inspection in the areas that follow:
(a) Corrosion:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage types, classification and corrective action.
Subtask 55-40-00-910-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a special detailed inspection of the rudder side panels (on the left and right sides) for damage or discontinuities NTM 554003. Do this inspection in the areas that follow:
- The rudder bearings
- The booster.
(a) Corrosion:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage types, classification and corrective action.
B. Sealant or Paint Application
(1) If the NTM procedure told you to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant SRM 512400 or paint SRM 512300 on the inspection area.
5. Close-up(1) If the NTM procedure told you to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant SRM 512400 or paint SRM 512300 on the inspection area.

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325DR and 325ER (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-410-001).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
Subtask 55-40-00-410-060-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325DR and 325ER (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-410-001).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-410-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close trailing edge access-panels 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL, 325BR, 325CR, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-410-002).
