WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACES. THE COMPONENTS ARE MADE OF CARBONFIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC.

A. Adjustment of the Clearance between the Trailing Edge Panels of the Vertical Stabilizer and the Rudder
(2) Measure the clearance A between the trailing edge access-panels of the vertical stabilizer and the leading edge of the rudder with a GAGE - FEELER.
(a) Do this at each rudder hinge-arm position on the LH and RH side.
(4) If the clearance A is less than 2 mm (0.0787 in.), do the adjustment of the trailing edge access-panels.
(5) If necessary, put the GFRP LOCALLY MANUFACTURED - SHIM PLATE of the 1 +2.6 mm or -0 mm (0.0394 +0.1024 in. or +0.0000 in.) in position on the support structure of the trailing edge panel and the rudder hinge arms.
(7) If the clearance A is more than 6 mm (0.2362 in.), you must contact Airbus for the necessary corrective action procedure.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THESE ACCESS PANELS. IF YOU LET THEM FALL, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO THEM OR TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.
(1) If necessary, open/remove the trailing edge access-panels of the vertical stabilizer (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-010-002). (2) Measure the clearance A between the trailing edge access-panels of the vertical stabilizer and the leading edge of the rudder with a GAGE - FEELER.
(a) Do this at each rudder hinge-arm position on the LH and RH side.
NOTE: The rudder must be in the neutral position.
(3) Make sure that the clearance A is 4 +2 mm or -2 mm (0.1575 +0.0787 in. or -0.0787 in.). (4) If the clearance A is less than 2 mm (0.0787 in.), do the adjustment of the trailing edge access-panels.
(5) If necessary, put the GFRP LOCALLY MANUFACTURED - SHIM PLATE of the 1 +2.6 mm or -0 mm (0.0394 +0.1024 in. or +0.0000 in.) in position on the support structure of the trailing edge panel and the rudder hinge arms.
NOTE: Use a maximum of two GFRP shims.
(6) Safety the shim plate with rivets of 2.4 mm (0.0945 in.). (7) If the clearance A is more than 6 mm (0.2362 in.), you must contact Airbus for the necessary corrective action procedure.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If necessary, close/install the trailing edge access-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-410-002).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
