A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
(3) Make sure that the 98D27309009003 COLLAR-DEPTH ACTUATOR or 98D27309009004 COLLAR-DEPTH ACTUATOR is installed on the servocontrol elevators.
(4) Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(5) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
(6) Make sure that the access platforms are in position at zone 330 and/or zone 340.
(7) Make sure that the THS trailing edge access panels have been removed as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 55-13-11-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
(3) Make sure that the 98D27309009003 COLLAR-DEPTH ACTUATOR or 98D27309009004 COLLAR-DEPTH ACTUATOR is installed on the servocontrol elevators.
(4) Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(5) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
(6) Make sure that the access platforms are in position at zone 330 and/or zone 340.

(2) Apply the Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) along the mating surfaces of the leading-edge acces panels (1) and (4) at the elevator.

B. Visual Inspection
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

(1) Put the leading-edge access panels (1), (2), (3) and (4) in position.
(2) Install the screws (5).

MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE THE "COLLAR-ELEVATOR SERVO CONTROL SAFETY" BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE THE ELEVATOR SERVO CONTROL. IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE COLLAR, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATOR SERVO CONTROL.
(2) Remove the 98D27309009003 COLLAR-DEPTH ACTUATOR or 98D27309009004 COLLAR-DEPTH ACTUATOR from the servocontrol elevators. C. Remove Ground Equipment
(1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
