Installation of the Attach Fittings Bearings of the THS Acturator Arm

Attach Fittings Bearings of the THS Actuator ArmSubtask 55-16-34-860-052-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the horizontal stabilizer pitch trim control is set to zero.
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized. (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(3) Make sure that the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
(4) Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell the persons not to operate the flight controls.
(5) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell the persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
(6) Make sure that ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) are in position at zones 311/312.
(7) Make sure that the access door 312AR is open.
Subtask 55-16-34-865-054-A (1) Make sure that the horizontal stabilizer pitch trim control is set to zero.

Subtask 55-16-34-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Attach Fittings Bearings of the THS Actuator Arm
(1) Put the bushes (3) and (10) in position.
(2) Put the new AIPC 55-16-36-01-020 WASHER RETAINER (2) in position.
(3) Install the nut retainer (1) with the 98D27409007000 WRENCH GROOVE NUT.
(4) TORQUE the nut retainer (1) to between 3.9546 and 2.8247 m.daN (29.16 and 20.83 lbf.ft ).
(5) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the bearings (5) and (9).
(6) Install the bearings (5) and (9).
(7) Put the new AIPC 55-16-36-01-050 WASHER RETAINER (4) and the new AIPC 55-16-36-01-050 WASHER RETAINER (8) in position.
(8) Install the nut retainers (6) and (7) with the 98D27409006000 WRENCH GROOVE NUT.
(9) TORQUE the nut retainers (6) and (7) to between 3.9546 and 2.8247 m.daN (29.16 and 20.83 lbf.ft ).
(10) Safety the nut retainers (6) and (7) with the washer retainers (4) and (8).
(11) Safety the nut retainer (1) with the washer retainer (2).
Subtask 55-16-34-410-052-A (1) Put the bushes (3) and (10) in position.
(2) Put the new AIPC 55-16-36-01-020 WASHER RETAINER (2) in position.
(3) Install the nut retainer (1) with the 98D27409007000 WRENCH GROOVE NUT.
(4) TORQUE the nut retainer (1) to between 3.9546 and 2.8247 m.daN (29.16 and 20.83 lbf.ft )
. (5) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the bearings (5) and (9).
(6) Install the bearings (5) and (9).
(7) Put the new AIPC 55-16-36-01-050 WASHER RETAINER (4) and the new AIPC 55-16-36-01-050 WASHER RETAINER (8) in position.
(8) Install the nut retainers (6) and (7) with the 98D27409006000 WRENCH GROOVE NUT.
(9) TORQUE the nut retainers (6) and (7) to between 3.9546 and 2.8247 m.daN (29.16 and 20.83 lbf.ft )
. (10) Safety the nut retainers (6) and (7) with the washer retainers (4) and (8).
(11) Safety the nut retainer (1) with the washer retainer (2).
NOTE: On the right side of the attach fitting, the bearing (9) must move freely and the washer retainer (8) must have no clearance.
NOTE: On the left side of the attach fitting, the bearing (5) must not move and the washer retainer (4) must have a clearance.
(12) Do a check of the minimum clearance between the bush (3) and the washer retainer (4) with the GAUGE 0.05 mm (0.002 in.). B. Install the THS Actuator
(1) Install the primary lower attachment of the THS actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 27-44-51-400-001)

Subtask 55-16-34-081-051-A
A. Remove Safety locks
(1) Remove the 0U190834 TOOL-ZERO POSITIONING,THS ACTUATOR and the 0U190360 PIN-RIGGING,THS ACTUATOR,MECHANICAL INPUT LEVER from the actuator.
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
Subtask 55-16-34-865-053-A (1) Remove the 0U190834 TOOL-ZERO POSITIONING,THS ACTUATOR and the 0U190360 PIN-RIGGING,THS ACTUATOR,MECHANICAL INPUT LEVER from the actuator.
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Pressurize the Hydraulic Systems
(1) Pressurize Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems. (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).

D. Remove Safety Locks.
(1) Remove 98D27407502000 SUPPORT STRUT-R I,THS ACTUATOR.
(2) Remove the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING from the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.

(2) Remove the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING from the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
G. Remove Ground Equipment
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
