WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 314.

   (1) Open the access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
4. Procedure
Subtask 55-16-00-210-050-A
A. Detailed Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the rear support fittings of the horizontal stabilizer, the upper and lower attach fittings and the adjacent external structure for:
  • Delamination
  • Deterioration of the structure
  • Scratches, marks and dents
  • Cracks
  • Corrosion
  • Damaged paintwork.
   (2) If you find damage, refer to the allowable damage limits in SRM 551600.
   (3) Do a detailed inspection of the condition of the attached hardware to prevent incorrect hardware installation.
   (4) Do a visual inspection of the external surface of the bearing housing that you can see.
