BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.

NOTE: If the left pressure relief door is missing, remove the right pressure relief door. If the right pressure relief is missing, remove the left pressure relief door.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
(2) Remove the access panels:
(a) For the left pylon: 413DL 413CL and 414CR
(b) For the right pylon: 423DL 423CL and 424CR.

(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.

C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:

(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
(2) Remove the access panels:
(a) For the left pylon: 413CL 413DT and 413CR
(b) For the right pylon: 423CL 423DT and 423CR.

(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410

C. Get Access

4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 410
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 420.
(2) Remove the access panels:
(a) For the left pylon: 413CL 413DT and 413CR
(b) For the right pylon: 423CL 423DT and 423CR.

(2) Remove the spring (11).
(3) Remove the cotter pins (9) and discard them.
(4) Remove the washers (6), the pin (10) and the shims (7) and (8).
(5) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (12) and the washer (13).
(6) Remove the shims (14), (15), (3) and (4).
(7) Remove the nut (21), the bolt (17) and the washers (16) and (18).
(8) Remove the shims (19) and (20).
(9) Remove the pressure relief door (1) or (2).

Pressure Relief Doors ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The deactivation of each pressure relief door is symmetrical.
(1) Open the pressure relief door (1) or (2). (2) Remove the spring (11).
(3) Remove the cotter pins (9) and discard them.
(4) Remove the washers (6), the pin (10) and the shims (7) and (8).
(5) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (12) and the washer (13).
(6) Remove the shims (14), (15), (3) and (4).
(7) Remove the nut (21), the bolt (17) and the washers (16) and (18).
(8) Remove the shims (19) and (20).
(9) Remove the pressure relief door (1) or (2).
