3. Job Set-up
Subtask 53-55-00-860-050-A

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 10M (33 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 53-55-00-210-050-A

A. Do an inspection of the vertical stabilizer fairings and rudder fairings for missing fasteners.
(1) Make sure that the screws (1) are installed and in the correct condition.
(2) Make sure that the nut-plates (2) are installed and in the correct condition.
(3) If necessary, replace/install the nut-plates (2).
(4) Torque the screws (1) to between 0.4 and 0.3 m.daN (35.40 and 26.55 lbf.in )

(5) Replace the missing fasteners before 100 flight cycles. Obey the standards in the subsequent table.

Missing fasteners are permitted with subsequent conditions: A maximum of two missing fasteners permitted which are not installed in adjacent position. Each missing fasteners location should be covered by two properly installed adjacent fasteners.

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
