A. Get Access
(1) Put on a safety harness:
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 8M (26 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) Remove fairings 323AL and 323AR (Ref. AMM TASK 53-55-11-000-001).

WARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
(a) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area. (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 8M (26 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(3) Remove fairings 323AL and 323AR (Ref. AMM TASK 53-55-11-000-001).
B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.

A. Inspection
(1) Do a detailed inspection of the outer fuselage of the fin to fuselage at the forward, mid and aft attach fittings, left and right sides for damage and discontinuities.
(2) Make sure that there is no:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.
(c) Paint layer damage: If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512300) for general data for paint layers.
5. Close-up(1) Do a detailed inspection of the outer fuselage of the fin to fuselage at the forward, mid and aft attach fittings, left and right sides for damage and discontinuities.
(2) Make sure that there is no:
(a) Corrosion damage:

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install fairings 323AL and 323AR (Ref. AMM TASK 53-55-11-400-001).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
