Installation of the Support Strut
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
NOTE: Applicable to FR50 and FR51, FR56 and FR57, FR61 and FR62 left side and the partition center support strut at FR65.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as for the removal task.
(2) Clean the support struts (1) and the mating surfaces with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

(2) Clean the support struts (1) and the mating surfaces with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .

Subtask 53-43-11-916-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation:
(1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to:
(a) The contact surfaces of the support struts (1).
(b) The threads of the screws (3) and the bolts (4).
Subtask 53-43-11-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to:
(a) The contact surfaces of the support struts (1).
(b) The threads of the screws (3) and the bolts (4).
B. Installation of the Support Struts
(1) Put the support struts (1) in position.
(2) Install the screws (3), the bolts (4), the nuts (5) and the washers (6).
(3) Put the support struts (2) in position.
(4) Install the quick release pins (7).
(5) Seal all the bolts (4), the nuts (5) and the attachment area of the support struts (1) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) .
(6) Install any attach items removed from the support struts (1).
Subtask 53-43-11-916-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the support struts (1) in position.
(2) Install the screws (3), the bolts (4), the nuts (5) and the washers (6).
(3) Put the support struts (2) in position.
(4) Install the quick release pins (7).
(5) Seal all the bolts (4), the nuts (5) and the attachment area of the support struts (1) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) .
(6) Install any attach items removed from the support struts (1).
C. Preparation for Installation:
(1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to:
(a) The contact surfaces of the support strut (5)
(b) The threads of the screw (1) and the bolts (6).
Subtask 53-43-11-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to:
(a) The contact surfaces of the support strut (5)
(b) The threads of the screw (1) and the bolts (6).
D. Installation of the Support Strut
(1) For the strut (5):
(a) Put the support strut (5) in position.
(b) Install the bolts (6), the washers (3) and the nuts (4).
(c) Tighten the nuts (4).
(d) Install the screw (1) and the washer (2).
(e) Tighten the screw (1).
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to the heads of the bolts (6), the nuts (4) and the attachment area of the support strut (5).
(g) If applicable, install all the removed items to the support strut (5).
(2) For the strut (12):
(a) Put the support strut (12) in position.
(b) Install the bolts (10), the washers (9) and (8) and the nuts (7).
(c) Tighten the nuts (7).
(d) Install the screws (17), the washers (18) and the nuts (11).
(e) Tighten the nuts (11).
(f) Install the bolts (13), the washers (14) and the nuts (16).
(g) Tighten the nuts (16).
(h) For the two bolts (10):
1 Measure clearances A between the support strut (12) and the upper fitting (19).
2 Make sure that clearance A is 0.5 mm (0.02 in.).
3 Measure clearances B between the washers (8) and the nuts (7).
4 Make sure that clearance B is 0.2 -0 mm or +0.4 mm (0.01 +0.00 in. or +0.02 in.).
(i) For the two bolts (13):
1 Measure clearances A between the support strut (12) and the lower fitting (15).
2 Make sure that clearance A is 0.5 mm (0.02 in.).
3 Measure clearances B between the washers (14) and the nuts (16).
4 Make sure that clearance B is 0.2 -0 mm or +0.4 mm (0.01 +0.00 in. or +0.02 in.).
(j) Put the bonding strap (22) in position and install the screw (20) and the washer (21) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(k) Tighten the screw (20).
5. Close-up(1) For the strut (5):
(a) Put the support strut (5) in position.
(b) Install the bolts (6), the washers (3) and the nuts (4).
(c) Tighten the nuts (4).
(d) Install the screw (1) and the washer (2).
(e) Tighten the screw (1).
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to the heads of the bolts (6), the nuts (4) and the attachment area of the support strut (5).
(g) If applicable, install all the removed items to the support strut (5).
(2) For the strut (12):
(a) Put the support strut (12) in position.
(b) Install the bolts (10), the washers (9) and (8) and the nuts (7).
(c) Tighten the nuts (7).
(d) Install the screws (17), the washers (18) and the nuts (11).
(e) Tighten the nuts (11).
(f) Install the bolts (13), the washers (14) and the nuts (16).
(g) Tighten the nuts (16).
(h) For the two bolts (10):
1 Measure clearances A between the support strut (12) and the upper fitting (19).
2 Make sure that clearance A is 0.5 mm (0.02 in.).
3 Measure clearances B between the washers (8) and the nuts (7).
4 Make sure that clearance B is 0.2 -0 mm or +0.4 mm (0.01 +0.00 in. or +0.02 in.).
(i) For the two bolts (13):
1 Measure clearances A between the support strut (12) and the lower fitting (15).
2 Make sure that clearance A is 0.5 mm (0.02 in.).
3 Measure clearances B between the washers (14) and the nuts (16).
4 Make sure that clearance B is 0.2 -0 mm or +0.4 mm (0.01 +0.00 in. or +0.02 in.).
(j) Put the bonding strap (22) in position and install the screw (20) and the washer (21) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(k) Tighten the screw (20).
Subtask 53-43-11-410-050-A
A. Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(1) Install the left sidewall linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-003).
(2) Install the partition panels 161DW 162DW at FR65 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door. (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Install the left sidewall linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-003).
(2) Install the partition panels 161DW 162DW at FR65 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door. (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
