Subtask 53-22-14-916-050-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Remove the sealant from the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (2) Clean the component interface and the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Replace the damaged cords (3) with new cords.
   (5) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (6) Do a visual inspection of the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-002).
   (7) For each forward cargo-compartment floor-panel (1) which has adhesive tapes (10) that are not in the correct condition:
     (a) Remove the adhesive tapes (10) from the forward cargo-compartment floor-panel (1).
     (b) Discard the adhesive tapes (10).
     (c) Clean the areas from which you removed the adhesive tapes (10) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (d) Apply the new Sealing Profile-- Silicone Foam - (Material No.14JAB1) (10) or the new Sealing Profile-Seat Rail Self Adhesive - I shape (Material No.14JMB1) (10) on the forward cargo-compartment floor-panel (1).
NOTE: The removal of the Sealing Profile-Seat Rail Self Adhesive - I shape (Material No.14JMB1) is easy.
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you use the same adhesive tape (10) for all the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1).
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you use the same adhesive tape (10) for all the edges of each forward cargo-compartment floor-panel (1).
   (8) If necessary, apply the new Double Sided Adhesive Tape-Floor panel height compensation Silicone - (Material No.05PBD1) on the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1).
NOTE: This keeps the offset between the adjacent cargo-compartment floor panels (1) to a minimum.
Subtask 53-22-14-420-050-A
B. Installation of the Forward Cargo-Compartment Floor-Panels
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to all the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1).
   (1) Make sure that you removed the peel ply from the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1) before the installation.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Put the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1) and, if necessary, the seals (4), (5), (6) and (7), in position as follows:
     (a) Make sure that the seals (4), (5), (6) and (7) are in the correct condition.
     (b) If they are not, clean them to remove the dust and the dirt before the installation.
     (c) Put the new seals (4), (5), (6) and (7) in position. For this, refer to the identification marks made during the removal procedure.
     (d) Make sure that the seals (4), (5), (6) and (7) are flush with the surfaces of the adjacent forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1).
   (4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) in the holes at the end of each seal to a minimum distance of 40 mm (1.5748 in.) from the edge of the seal.
   (5) Make sure that all the seals are flush with each other.
   (6) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the screws (2).
   (7) Install the screws (2) and, if applicable, the washers (8) and the nuts (9).
   (8) TORQUE the screws (2) to between 0.42 and 0.37 m.daN (37.17 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
NOTE: The minimum protrusion length of a screw is a half thread.
   (9) Make sure that the screws (2) are not too short. If they are, use the next available screw length.
   (10) If necessary, apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.
06AAB1) on the nuts (9).
   (11) If necessary, let the sealant cure.
   (12) If necessary, apply one or more protective layer(s) of Coating-- Corrosion Inhibiting Fastener Head Protection (Material No.04QAC5) or Primer Polyurethane Paint_- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No.04EAC2) and Top Coat Polyurethane_- Grey Internal Structure (Material No.04JME4) on:
  • The nuts (9)
  • The washers (8), and
  • The protruding threads of the screws (2).
   (13) Install the FIBER GLASS CORD 1.1 MM DIA. (DAN107-1) (3) between the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1).
   (14) Make a loop at the two ends of the cord (3).
NOTE: This will make the subsequent removal procedure easier.
   (15) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Gap Filler Easily Removed - - (Material No.06AHG1) between the forward cargo-compartment floor-panels (1), the cutouts and the tiedowns.
