Inspection of the Piano Hinge Fittings of the AFT Cargo DoorSubtask 52-32-11-010-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Open the AFT cargo door and safety it with the actuator safety locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the opened cargo door.
Subtask 52-32-11-865-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the AFT cargo door and safety it with the actuator safety locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the opened cargo door.

Subtask 52-32-11-615-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
Subtask 52-32-11-210-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
B. Inspection
(1) Do a detailed inspection of the piano hinge fittings on the top of the cargo door for scratches, cracks and corrosion (inspection area A).
(a) If you find a scratch:
1 Measure the dimensions of the damaged area SRM 523000.
2 If the scratch is less than the limit, remove the damage SRM 517300.
3 If the scratch is more than the limit, repair the defective fitting SRM 523000 or replace it:
a Remove the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-000-001).
b Send the aft cargo-compartment door to workshop.
c Install a serviceable aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-400-001).
(b) If you find a crack, repair it immediately SRM 517300.
(c) If you find corrosion:
(3) Do a detailed inspection of the piano hinge fittings on the outer side of the cargo door for scratches, cracks and corrosion (inspection area B).
(a) If you find a scratch:
1 Measure the dimensions of the damaged area SRM 523000.
2 If the scratch is less than the limit, remove the damage SRM 517300.
3 If the scratch is more than the limit, repair the defective fitting SRM 523000 or replace it:
a Remove the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-000-001).
b Send the aft cargo-compartment door to workshop.
c Install a serviceable aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-400-001).
(b) If you find a crack, repair it immediately SRM 517300.
(c) If you find corrosion:
Subtask 52-32-11-916-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a detailed inspection of the piano hinge fittings on the top of the cargo door for scratches, cracks and corrosion (inspection area A).
(a) If you find a scratch:
1 Measure the dimensions of the damaged area SRM 523000.
2 If the scratch is less than the limit, remove the damage SRM 517300.
3 If the scratch is more than the limit, repair the defective fitting SRM 523000 or replace it:
a Remove the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-000-001).
b Send the aft cargo-compartment door to workshop.
c Install a serviceable aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-400-001).
(b) If you find a crack, repair it immediately SRM 517300.
(c) If you find corrosion:
- Measure the dimensions of the area that has corrosion SRM 523000.
- Repair the damage if it is less than the limit SRM 517400.
(3) Do a detailed inspection of the piano hinge fittings on the outer side of the cargo door for scratches, cracks and corrosion (inspection area B).
(a) If you find a scratch:
1 Measure the dimensions of the damaged area SRM 523000.
2 If the scratch is less than the limit, remove the damage SRM 517300.
3 If the scratch is more than the limit, repair the defective fitting SRM 523000 or replace it:
a Remove the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-000-001).
b Send the aft cargo-compartment door to workshop.
c Install a serviceable aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-11-400-001).
(b) If you find a crack, repair it immediately SRM 517300.
(c) If you find corrosion:
- Measure the dimensions of the area that has corrosion SRM 523000.
- Repair the damage if it is less than the limit SRM 517400.
C. Check and Application of the TPS Layer
(1) If you removed the TPS at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(2) If you did not remove the TPS at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
5. Close-up(1) If you removed the TPS at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(2) If you did not remove the TPS at the ”Preparation of the Inspection Area”, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Make sure that the cargo door is closed and locked correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
