A. Get Access
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
  • THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the passenger/crew door 832 or 842.
   (2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-13-00-820-067-A
A. Load Adjustment of the Control Handle
   (1) Take a DYNAMOMETER 20 DAN (45 LBF) - PULL.
   (2) Make sure that the load necessary to open the door with the inner control handle (2) is less than or equal to 18 daN (40.47 lbf).
   (3) If the load is not in the tolerances, adjust as follows:
     (a) Open the door.
WARNING: USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (b) Remove and discard the lockwire from the tension bolt (1).
     (c) Adjust the tension bolt (1) to get the correct load.
     (d) Safety the tension bolt (1) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (4) Close the door and measure the load necessary to open the door with the inner control handle (2). If the load is not in the tolerances, do the adjustment again.
   (5) Make sure that the inner control handle (2) comes back to its initial position with the door in the up position and the down position.

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Close Access
   (1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (3) Close the applicable passenger/crew door 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
