A. Get Access
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
  • THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in front of the passenger/crew door 831(841).
   (2) Open the passenger/crew door 831 ( 841).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Removal of Components
   (1) Remove the escape slide:
     (a) For the left door:
If installed, remove the left-hand escape slide pack assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-002).
     (b) For the right door:
If installed, remove the right-hand escape slide pack assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-802).
   (2) Remove the door lining panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001).
   (3) Install the 98D52103501000 BALLAST WEIGHT - PASSENGER CREW DOOR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-480-001).
   (4) Remove the door insulation.

C. Removal of Components
   (1) Remove the escape slide:
     (a) For the left door:
If installed, remove the left-hand escape slide raft pack assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-012).
     (b) For the right door:
If installed, remove the right-hand escape slide raft pack assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-804).
   (2) Remove the door lining panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001).
   (3) Install the 98D52103501000 BALLAST WEIGHT - PASSENGER CREW DOOR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-480-001).
   (4) Remove the door insulation.
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-11-31-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Lining Flap
   (1) Disengage the rods (1) as follows:
     (a) Remove the cotter pins (2) and discard them.
     (b) Remove the pins (3) and the washers (4).
   (2) Disengage the lining flap (5) from the bellcrank assy (6) as follows:
     (a) Remove the cotter pins (7) and discard them.
     (b) Remove the pins (8) and the washers (9).
   (3) Disengage the lining flap (5) from the rods (1) and from the bellcrank assy (6).
