A. Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position adjacent to the area of the corrosion.
4. Procedure
Subtask 51-74-11-140-052-A
A. Removal of the Corrosion
   (1) Clean the repair area with Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
WARNING: DO NOT APPLY ADHESIVE TAPE ON THE PROBES, DUCTS, SENSORS (STATIC, PITOT, TAT, AOA). USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED TOOLS FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE SPECIFIED TOOLS:
  • GIVE THE CORRECT PROTECTION TO THE AIRCRAFT EQUIPMENT,
  • ARE EASY TO SEE FROM THE GROUND,
  • ARE EASY TO REMOVE.
IF YOU USE TAPE, THERE IS A RISK THAT SOME TAPE, OR ADHESIVE FROM THE TAPE, WILL STAY ON THE PROBES, DUCTS OR SENSORS. THIS CAN CAUSE INCORRECT INDICATIONS ON THE RELATED COCKPIT INSTRUMENTS.
   (2) Cover the window pane with tape 3M595, FOIL -PE and Tesodur tape.
   (3) Cover the area adjacent to the damage with PAPER - MASKING and TAPE - MASKING.
   (4) Remove the corrosion with LIGHT GRIT BLASTING EQUIPMENT and ALUMINUM OXIDE (80-120 MICRONS) at a pressure of 4 bar (58.0151 psi).
NOTE: For limits refer to the related ASRM-chapter.
   (5) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (6) Make a visual inspection of the repair area with a MAGNIFYING GLASS to make sure all the corrosion is removed.
   (7) If necessary, repair the damaged sealant (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-11-300-001).
   (8) Repair the damaged paint (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-001).

A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (3) Make an entry in the aircraft log book and attach a tag on the captain side stick to tell the crew that:
  • Protection covers/devices have been installed.
