Deactivation of the Taxi Light
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMPS FOR 2 MINUTES AFTER YOU SWITCH OFF THE LIGHT. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN BURN YOUR FINGERS.
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the EXT LT section of the panel 25VU to tell persons not to operate the taxi light.

A. Deactivation of the Taxi Light (8LR)
(b) Dry the surface of the taxi light lens and the cover assembly with the new Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(c) Apply Adhesive Film Tape-Erosion Protective Polyurethane - 0.36mm Legacy (Material No.05RQB9) or Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) on the crack(s) or damage. Make sure that there is a good overlap of the glass lens and the cover assembly.
(d) Make sure that the tape is correctly installed and has no bubbles or damage that will have an effect on its performance.
(e) Let the tape bond for a minimum of 15 minutes at a minimum temperature of 15 deg.C (59.00 deg.F).

(3) Put a placard on switch 4LR of panel 25VU to identify the taxi light which does not operate.
5. Close-upWARNING:
WEAR GLASSES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE LIGHT. THE LAMP IS PRESSURIZED AND AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.
(1) Do the steps that follow if:- The glass lens of the taxi light has only cracks
- It does not move, and
- No parts are missing.
(b) Dry the surface of the taxi light lens and the cover assembly with the new Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(c) Apply Adhesive Film Tape-Erosion Protective Polyurethane - 0.36mm Legacy (Material No.05RQB9) or Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) on the crack(s) or damage. Make sure that there is a good overlap of the glass lens and the cover assembly.
(d) Make sure that the tape is correctly installed and has no bubbles or damage that will have an effect on its performance.
(e) Let the tape bond for a minimum of 15 minutes at a minimum temperature of 15 deg.C (59.00 deg.F).
(f) Make the entries that follow in the aircraft technical logbook:
- The glass lens of the taxi light is temporarily safetied with tape.
- The taxi light does not operate.
NOTE: You cannot operate the taxi light that is temporarily safetied with tape.
(2) Do the steps that follow if:- The glass lens of the taxi light is broken.
- The cover assembly is damaged.
- There are parts of the glass that move or are missing (the cover body does not hold the glass tightly).
(b) Make the entries that follow in the aircraft technical logbook:
- The taxi light is removed.
- The taxi light does not operate.
(3) Put a placard on switch 4LR of panel 25VU to identify the taxi light which does not operate.
