A. Check of channel 1(2) of the related BTMU:
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (P1) & (P2) from the brake temperature sensors (1) and (2).
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (P3) from the related brake temperature monitoring unit.
(a) Energize the BTMU with 28VDC plus or minus 0.1v:
+28VDC at pin J3-A
Ground at pin J3-B
(3) Connect the THERMOCOUPLE SIMULATOR to connector P1:
+Vin at pin P1-C (chromel)
-Vin at pin P1-A (alumel)
(4) Connect the VOLTMETER - DC to connector J3:
+Vout at pin J3-C
-Vout at pin J3-B
(5) on the thermocouple simulator, set the temperatures given in the table below and do a check for the related output voltages:
(6) Set a temperature of:
-20 deg.C (-4.00 deg.F) , for type 1001 without amendment A.
-40 deg.C (-40.00 deg.F), for type 1001 with amendment A or type 1002.
(7) Make sure that the output voltage stays at the lower limit (1V plus or minus 0.2V).
(8) Set a temperature of:
1250 deg.C (2282.00 deg.F), for type 1001 without amendment A.
1200 deg.C (2192.00 deg.F), for type 1001 with amendment A or type 1002
(9) Make sure that the output voltage stays at the upper limit :
(11) Connect the THERMOCOUPLE SIMULATOR to connector P2:
+Vin at pin P2-C (chromel)
-Vin at pin P2-A (alumel)
(12) Connect the VOLTMETER - DC to connector J3:
+Vout at pin J3-D
-Vout at pin J3-B
(13) Do the same tests on channel 2 (1).
