Installation of the NLG Leg Door-Assembly after Removal for Access


WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

1. Reason for the Job
This procedure is only applicable if you install a replacement leg door-assembly for access only.
For the applicable installation procedure of the leg door assembly after replacement, Ref. TASK 32-22-15-400-001.

LUBRICATION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-22-15-860-052-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) In the cockpit, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The landing-gear control lever on the right-center instrument panel (400VU)
  • The steering handwheels (CAPT and F/O)
  • The brake pedals.
   (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-22-15-640-051-A
A. Prepare for the Installation.
   (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Lubricate the bolts and the nuts with Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) .
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).

B. Installation of the NLG Leg Door-Assembly
NOTE: Do not change the adjustment of the rod (11), the rod end of the link assembly (1) and the rod ends of the fitting assembly (9).
   (1) Put the leg door (5) in position on its attachments.
   (2) Install the bushes (8) and (10) on the fitting assembly (9) and on the leg door (5).
   (3) Install the bolts (7).
  • Hold the bushes (8) and (10) during the installation of the bolts (7) to make sure that they do not fall.
   (4) Install the nuts (6) but do not fully tighten them at this time.
   (5) Put the rod (11) in position on its attachment on the leg door (5).
   (6) Put the rod end of the link assembly (1) in position on the leg door (5).
   (7) Install the bushes (3) on the leg door (5).
   (8) Install the bolt (2).
  • Hold the bushes (3) during the installation of the bolt (2) to make sure that they do not fall.
   (9) Install the nut (4).
   (10) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in ) T.
   (11) Tighten the nuts (6).
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
