(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.

A. Removal of the NLG Lock Springs
(1) Install the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE (25) on the lock springs (4) and (11) on each end-fitting. Extend the lock springs sufficiently to release the spring pressure on the lock spring attachment-fittings.
(2) Remove and discard the cotter pins (21) and (15).
(3) Remove the nuts (20) and (16).
(4) Remove the washers (19) and (17).
(5) Remove and discard the cotter pins (1) and (14).
(6) Remove the nuts (2) and (13).
(7) Remove the washers (3) and (12).
(8) Remove the lock springs (4) and (11) from their links.
(1) Install the M21929 TENSIONING FIXTURE (25) on the lock springs (4) and (11) on each end-fitting. Extend the lock springs sufficiently to release the spring pressure on the lock spring attachment-fittings.
(2) Remove and discard the cotter pins (21) and (15).
(3) Remove the nuts (20) and (16).
(4) Remove the washers (19) and (17).
(5) Remove and discard the cotter pins (1) and (14).
(6) Remove the nuts (2) and (13).
(7) Remove the washers (3) and (12).
(8) Remove the lock springs (4) and (11) from their links.
NOTE: You must remove the lock springs from their links at the same time to prevent stress.
