A. Safety Precautions
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) If necessary, put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) below the leak monitor(s).
(3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
4. Procedure(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) If necessary, put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) below the leak monitor(s).
(3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

A. Check ACT Fuel Pipe Leak Monitor 184QM for Leakage and Correct Closure of the Valve
(1) Put 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position below leak monitor 184QM.
(2) Push the probe of 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into the leak monitor and drain the contents.
(3) Remove 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from the leak monitor.
(4) Make sure that the leak monitor seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel leakage is permitted.
Subtask 28-11-00-200-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position below leak monitor 184QM.
(2) Push the probe of 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into the leak monitor and drain the contents.
(3) Remove 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from the leak monitor.
(4) Make sure that the leak monitor seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel leakage is permitted.
NOTE: Signs of fuel show that there is a leak from the ACT transfer or vent-pipe.
B. Check ACT Fuel Leak Monitor 185QM for Leakage and Correct Closure of the Valve
(1) Put 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position below ACT leak monitor 185QM.
(2) Push the probe of the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into the leak monitor and drain the contents.
(3) Remove the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from the leak monitor.
(4) Make sure that the leak monitor seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel leakage is permitted.
Subtask 28-11-00-200-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position below ACT leak monitor 185QM.
(2) Push the probe of the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into the leak monitor and drain the contents.
(3) Remove the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from the leak monitor.
(4) Make sure that the leak monitor seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel leakage is permitted.
NOTE: Signs of fuel show that there is a fuel leak from the ACT. To identify which ACT has a leak TSM 28-11-00-810-802.
(6) If there is fuel leakage, then replace the applicable ACT1 or ACT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-001). C. Check of ACT Fuel Leak-Monitor 253QM for Evidence of Fuel Leakage and Correct Closure of the Valve
(1) Put 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position below tank leak monitor 253QM.
(2) Push the probe of 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into tank leak monitor 253QM and drain the tank leak-monitor contents.
(3) Remove 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from tank leak monitor 253QM.
(4) Make sure that tank leak monitor 253QM seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel tank leakage is permitted.
(6) If there is any fuel leakage, examine the pipes connecting the center tank and ACT FWD and/or replace ACT FWD (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-802).

(2) Push the probe of 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into tank leak monitor 253QM and drain the tank leak-monitor contents.
(3) Remove 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from tank leak monitor 253QM.
(4) Make sure that tank leak monitor 253QM seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel tank leakage is permitted.
(6) If there is any fuel leakage, examine the pipes connecting the center tank and ACT FWD and/or replace ACT FWD (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-802).
NOTE: Signs of fuel show that there is a fuel leak:
- From ACT FWD
- From the pipes that connect ACT FWD to the center tank.
D. Check of ACT Fuel Leak-Monitor 254QM for Evidence of Fuel Leakage and Correct Closure of the Valve
(1) Put 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position below tank leak monitor 254QM.
(2) Push the probe of 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into tank leak monitor 254QM and drain the tank leak-monitor contents.
(3) Remove 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from tank leak monitor 254QM.
(4) Make sure that tank leak monitor 254QM seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel tank leakage is permitted.
(6) If there is any fuel leakage, replace the applicable ACT:

(6) If there is any fuel leakage, replace the applicable ACT:
- For ACT AFT1 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-002)
- For ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-003).
NOTE: Signs of fuel show that there is a fuel tank leak.
E. Check of ACT Fuel Leak-Monitor 255QM for Evidence of Fuel Leakage and Correct Closure of the Valve
(1) Put 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN in position below pipe leak monitor 255QM.
(2) Push the probe of 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into pipe leak monitor 255QM and drain the pipe leak-monitor contents.
(3) Remove the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from pipe leak monitor 255QM.
(4) Make sure that pipe leak-monitor 255QM seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel tank leakage is permitted.
(6) If there is a fuel leakage, examine for leaks in the pipes that:

(2) Push the probe of 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN into pipe leak monitor 255QM and drain the pipe leak-monitor contents.
(3) Remove the 98A28104000000 PURGER - WATER DRAIN from pipe leak monitor 255QM.
(4) Make sure that pipe leak-monitor 255QM seals correctly.
(5) Examine the contents of the bottle for signs of fuel and/or water (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-28-281-001). No fuel tank leakage is permitted.
(6) If there is a fuel leakage, examine for leaks in the pipes that:
- Connect the center tank and ACT AFT1
- Supply the APU.
NOTE: Signs of fuel show that there is a leak in the pipes that:
- Connect the center tank and ACT AFT1 in the rear cargo bay
- Supply the APU.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If installed, remove the safety barriers.
(3) If applicable, remove the access platform(s).
