C. Get Access

WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.

(1) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below maintenance door 314AR.
(3) Open access door 314AR and safety it in the open position.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
(4) Set the light switch to on.

4. Procedure
Subtask 26-22-41-020-058-A

A. Removal of the APU Fire-Extinguisher Discharge-Outlet (4015WM) and Tubing for Meggitt Assembly

Extinguisher Discharge-Outlet and Tubing (Meggitt Bottle)

(1) Remove the APU fire-extinguisher cartridge (Ref. AMM TASK 26-22-42-000-001).
(2) Removal of the spray tubing.

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the couplings of the spray tubing (6).
(b) Remove the clamp (5).
(c) Hold the spray tubing (6) in position, loosen the nuts (1) on the spray tubing (6) and slide them back.
(d) Remove the spray tubing (6).
(e) Remove and discard the O-rings (3) from the spray tubing (6).
(f) Remove the ring-retainings (2) from the spray tubing (6).
(g) Remove the bushing (4).
(3) Removal of the discharge outlet.

(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the discharge outlet (7).
(b) Hold the discharge outlet (7) in position, loosen the swivel nut (8) completely and then remove the discharge outlet (7).
(c) Remove and discard the O-ring (9) from the discharge outlet (7).
(d) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.

B. Removal of the APU Fire-Extinguisher Discharge-Outlet (4015WM) and Tubing for Kidde Assembly

Extinguisher Discharge-Outlet and Tubing (Kidde Bottle)

(1) Remove the APU fire-extinguisher cartridge (Ref. AMM TASK 26-22-42-000-001).
(2) Removal of the spray tubing.

(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the discharge outlet (7).
(b) Hold the discharge outlet (7) in position, loosen the swivel nut (8) completely and then remove the discharge outlet (7).
(c) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
