Removal of the Fire-Extinguisher Bottle Cartridge
WARNING:
THE CARTRIDGE IS AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE. REMOVE IT BEFORE YOU DISASSEMBLE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE.
TO PREVENT INJURY TO THE PERSONNEL BECAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION OF THE CARTRIDGE IF IT HAS NOT BEEN FIRED:
- INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE.
- THIS WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE ITS REMOVAL.

B. Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on panel 25VU to tell persons not to operate the APU.
Subtask 26-22-42-010-050-A C. Get Access
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below access door 314AR.
(3) Open access door 314AR and safety it in the open position.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
(4) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT.
4. ProcedureWARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
(1) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below access door 314AR.
(3) Open access door 314AR and safety it in the open position.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
(4) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT.

A. Removal of the Fire-Extinguisher Bottle Cartridge (12WF)
(2) Remove and discard the safety wire from the cartridge (2).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the cartridge (2).
(4) Install the MS25043-10DA CARTRIDGE CAP to the cartridge (2).
(5) Put the cartridge in a BAG - ELECTROSTATIC SAFETY.
(6) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Remove the cartridge (2) together with the bonding lug (3).
(8) Remove and discard the 0-ring (7) from the cartridge (2).
Subtask 26-22-42-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT.
IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
(1) Remove the nut (6), the bonding strap (5) and the washer (4). (2) Remove and discard the safety wire from the cartridge (2).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the cartridge (2).
(4) Install the MS25043-10DA CARTRIDGE CAP to the cartridge (2).
(5) Put the cartridge in a BAG - ELECTROSTATIC SAFETY.
(6) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Remove the cartridge (2) together with the bonding lug (3).
(8) Remove and discard the 0-ring (7) from the cartridge (2).
A. Removal of the Fire-Extinguisher Bottle Cartridge (12WF)
(2) Remove and discard the safety wire from the cartridge (2).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the cartridge (2).
(4) Install the 6971-0010 CAP SHUNT-FIRE BOTTLE or CAP SHUNT-FIRE BOTTLE (CEC-10) to the cartridge (2).
(5) Put the cartridge in a BAG - ELECTROSTATIC SAFETY.
(6) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Remove the cartridge (2) together with the bonding lug (3).
WARNING:

(7) Remove the cartridge (2) together with the bonding lug (3).
