   (1) For the get access information (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-024).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-50-00-210-115-A
A. Identification of the Damage Area
(Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-024)
   (1) If the damaged panel is painted (refurbished in accordance to (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-370-001))), remove the paint in the affected area before applying the repair procedure.
   (2) To identify the surface of the damaged panel use Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . If the panel is painted, the applied paint dissolves.
   (3) If the length of a damaged area is more than 25 mm (0.98 in.):
  • The minimum distance to another damaged area or repaired area in the same panel is 50 mm (1.97 in.).
  • If the distance to another damaged area is less than 50 mm (1.97 in.), both damaged areas must be considered as a single damage area.
   (4) Type of repair patch:
  • Laminate Repair Patch-Cured - Fire compliant Intumescent Cargo 2 (Material No.13XBD5) .

B. Repair of the edge(s) of the Cargo Compartment Lining with Speed Patch and Filler
   (1) If necessary, do the repair of the lining panel edge(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-340-014).

C. Temporary Repair of a Ceiling Panel Interface with a Retardant Strip
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Cut the new retardant strip Adhesive Tape-Fire Blocking - Furnishing (Material No.05TLA6) .
   (3) Make sure that there is an overlap of 50 mm (1.97 in.) on each side of the repaired area.
   (4) Remove the protective paper and put the new retardant strip in position on the repaired edge of the panel.
   (5) Replace the temporary repair with the permanent repair solution (Para D.) at the next maintenance visit, before 6 months, 1000 FH or 1000 FC, whichever occurs first.

D. Permanent Repair of a Ceiling Panel Interface with a Retardant Strip
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Prepare the repaired edge:
     (a) If necessary, remove the old foam strip in the area of the repair.
     (b) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (c) Carefully mill a recess of 2.0 +0.5 mm or -0 mm (0.08 +0.02 in. or +0.00 in.) dimension A and 5.0 +0.5 mm or -0 mm (0.20 +0.02 in. or +0.00 in.) dimension B along the edge as necessary.
   (2) Install the new retardant strip:
     (a) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (b) Cut the new retardant strip Adhesive Tape-Fire Blocking - Furnishing (Material No.05TLA6) .
     (c) Make sure that there is an overlap of 50 mm (1.97 in.) on each side of the repaired area.
     (d) Remove the protective paper and put the new retardant strip in position in the milled edge of the panel.
   (3) Install the new foam strip:
     (a) Install the new foam strip with an overlap of 100 mm (3.94 in.) on each side of the repaired area.
     (b) Step by step remove the protective paper and carefully put the new foam strip Sealing Profile-- Silicone Foam - (Material No.14JAB1) in position on the edge of the panel.
NOTE: Do not pull on the foam strip during the installation.
     (c) Make sure that the distance between two pieces of foam strip is less than 0.5 mm (0.02 in.).
     (d) If you put the foam tape on the attachment holes of the panel, make holes of 12 mm (0.47 in.) diameter in the new foam strip with a PUNCH - PIN.
