   (1) Identify the damage limits (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-024):
     (a) The minimum distance between the damaged areas in the same panel must be 76.20 mm (3.0000 in.). If it is less than 76.20 mm (3.0000 in.), you must think of the two damaged areas as one damage.
     (b) The minimum distance between the damaged area and the repaired area in the same panel must be 38.10 mm (1.5000 in.).
     (c) The minimum distance between the damaged area and the edges with and without milling must be 38.10 mm (1.5000 in.).
     (d) The minimum distance between the damaged area and the milling of the cutouts for the decompression panels must be 38.10 mm (1.5000 in.).
     (e) The minimum distance between the damaged area and the edges of the cutouts must be 38.10 mm (1.5000 in.).
   (2) If the damaged panel is painted, remove the paint from the damaged area before you do the repair procedure. Use Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to remove the paint from the surface of the damaged area.
   (3) Use Laminate Repair Patch-Cured - Fire compliant Intumescent Cargo (Material No.13XBD4) on the damaged areas.

   (6) Cut the repair patch to the applicable dimensions and obey these precautions:
  • Make sure that the repair patch is between 38.10 mm (1.5000 in.) and 50.80 mm (2.0000 in.) larger than the damaged area in all directions
  • Make sure that the repair patch touches the panel edge if the prepared area has an attachment hole
  • If the prepared area has an attachment hole that is not at the panel edge, make sure that the repair patch has a minimum overlap with the attachment holes of 15.20 mm (0.5984 in.) in all directions
  • To prevent delamination and sharp edges, make a radius of 10.20 mm (0.4016 in.) to 15.20 mm (0.5984 in.) on each corner of the patch(es).
  • Make sure that the repair patches do not make an overlap.
   (7) Make the edges of the repair patch smooth with a CLOTH - ABRASIVE (GRADE 120-180).
   (8) Remove the protective backing from the repair patch.
   (9) Put the repair patch in position on the prepared area and make sure that:

  • There is no overlap between the repair patch and the other repaired areas.
   (10) If the repair patch is on one or more attachment hole(s):
     (a) Drill new holes at the same positions and with the same dimensions as the initial holes.
     (b) Do a check of the grip range of the related fastener. If necessary, replace the fastener with the correct grip range.
   (11) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
