A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration.
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) on the panel 115VU to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) on the panel 50VU to tell persons not to power supply the FADEC system.

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).

A. Installation of the Upper Oil-in Tube-Assembly
(2) Connect the upper oil-in tube (10) of the IDG to the fitting on the oil-out port of the IDG oil cooler.
(3) TORQUE the coupling nut on the upper oil-in tube (10) to between 1050 and 1000 lbf.in (11.87 and 11.30 m.daN )
. When you do this, use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the oil-out port of the IDG oil cooler.
(4) Put the clampshell (25) on the upper oil-in tube (10) and attach it to the channel with the screws (15).
(5) TORQUE the screws (15) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

Subtask 24-21-49-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the hoses, the tubes and the fittings of the IDG and the IDG oil cooler. - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Connect the upper oil-in tube (10) of the IDG to the fitting on the oil-out port of the IDG oil cooler.
(3) TORQUE the coupling nut on the upper oil-in tube (10) to between 1050 and 1000 lbf.in (11.87 and 11.30 m.daN )
. When you do this, use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the oil-out port of the IDG oil cooler.(4) Put the clampshell (25) on the upper oil-in tube (10) and attach it to the channel with the screws (15).
(5) TORQUE the screws (15) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
. B. Installation of the Lower Oil-in Tube Assembly
(2) Put the clampshell (25) on the tube (45) and attach it to the channel with the screw (15), washer (30), and nut (35).
(3) Put the clampshells (25) on the tube (45) and attach them to the brackets at Sta. 158 (B1) with the screws (15). (Two locations).
(4) TORQUE the screw (15) and nut (35) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

(5) TORQUE the coupling nut on the lower oil-in tube (45) to between 1050 and 1000 lbf.in (11.87 and 11.30 m.daN )
.
Subtask 24-21-49-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Loosely connect the lower oil-in tube (45) to the upper oil-in tube (10). Do not torque the tube coupling nut at this time. - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Put the clampshell (25) on the tube (45) and attach it to the channel with the screw (15), washer (30), and nut (35).
(3) Put the clampshells (25) on the tube (45) and attach them to the brackets at Sta. 158 (B1) with the screws (15). (Two locations).
(4) TORQUE the screw (15) and nut (35) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
. (5) TORQUE the coupling nut on the lower oil-in tube (45) to between 1050 and 1000 lbf.in (11.87 and 11.30 m.daN )
. NOTE: It is necessary to use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the tube (10) when you torque the coupling nut on the tube (45).
C. Installation of the Oil-in Hose Assembly
(2) TORQUE the coupling nut on the oil-in hose (55) to between 1050 and 1000 lbf.in (11.87 and 11.30 m.daN )

(4) TORQUE the coupling nut on the oil-in hose (55) to between 850 and 725 lbf.in (9.61 and 8.19 m.daN )
.
Subtask 24-21-49-612-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Connect the oil-in hose (55) to the lower oil-in tube (45).- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) TORQUE the coupling nut on the oil-in hose (55) to between 1050 and 1000 lbf.in (11.87 and 11.30 m.daN )
.NOTE: It is necessary to use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the tube (45) when you torque the coupling nut on the hose (55).
(3) Connect the oil-in hose (55) to the union on the IDG (60).(4) TORQUE the coupling nut on the oil-in hose (55) to between 850 and 725 lbf.in (9.61 and 8.19 m.daN )
.NOTE: It is necessary to use a second wrench to hold the union on the IDG (60) when you torque the coupling nut on the hose (55).
D. Filling of the IDG with Oil
(1) Drain and fill the IDG with oil (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-612-041).

E. Visual Inspection for Oil Leaks
(1) Do a visual inspection for oil leaks at the IDG and the oil tubes.
Leaks are not permitted.

G. Test for Oil Leaks
(1) Do a Dry Motoring Check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-001).
(2) Make sure that there are no leaks in the IDG oil system.
