3. Job Set-up
Subtask 24-21-43-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

4. Procedure
Subtask 24-21-43-110-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Cleaning of the IDG Cable Assembly
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) to clean the cable assembly (2).
   (2) Use a clean lint-free cloth to dry the cable assembly (2).

B. Check of the Sockets
   (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (2) Check the retention pin of each socket ESPM 2048230.
   (3) Do not clean contacts with abrasive material.
   (4) Connect the electrical connector to the aircraft pylon receptacle (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010)
   (5) Tighten the connector by hand until the orange color is shown in the coupling nut window.
NOTE: When you tighten the connector, the torque value increases. This causes the connector to make clicks until it is fully engaged.
   (6) Safety the connector with lockwire (Material No.V02-147) .

C. Installation of the IDG Cable Assembly
   (1) Attach the cable assembly (2) to the engine with the clips (9), the bolts (8), washers (17) and nuts (7).
NOTE: Do not tighten the nuts at this step.
   (2) Attach the two cable ends to the terminal post on the bracket (14) with the nut (1).
NOTE: Do not tighten the nut at this step.

D. Installation of the Clamp on the Support Bushes
   (1) Put the support bushes on the IDG cable assembly (2).
   (2) Measure dimension X from the electrical connector to the support bushes.
   (3) Make sure dimension X is 12.25 in. (311 mm) minimum and 12.52 in. (318 mm) maximum for the T1 and T2 cables.
   (4) Make sure dimension X is 11.8 in. (300 mm) minimum and 12.07 in. (307 mm) maximum for the T3 and N cables.
NOTE: The cables are identified at their ends.
   (5) If dimension X is not the correct minimum distance, move the support bushes to get the correct distance.
   (6) Install the clamp (4) on the support bushes.
   (7) Attach the clamp (4) to the support bracket with the two bolts (3) and (5) with the two clip nuts (6).

E. Check the bend on the IDG cable assembly.
   (1) Make sure that there is not too much bend on the cable assembly (2) that will cause too much force on the connector contacts.
   (2) If there is too much bend on the cable assembly (2), adjust the cable routing and the bracket (15) as follows.
     (a) Loosen the nuts (16) from the bolts (15).
     (b) Move the bracket (14) along the slots to remove the bend on the cable assembly.
     (c) TORQUE the nuts (16) to between 105 and 85 lbf.in (1.19 and 0.96 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 24-21-43-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F. Safety the fasteners.
   (1) TORQUE the nuts (7) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (2) TORQUE the bolts (3) and (5) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (3) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 121 and 99 lbf.in (1.37 and 1.12 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 24-21-43-420-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
G. Installation of the Phase Leads on the IDG
   (1) Connect the IDG cables to the IDG.
     (a) Attach the cable ends to the IDG terminal posts with the washers (13) and the nuts (12).
NOTE: The cable ends and the IDG terminals are identified as T1 (red) , T2 (yellow), T3 (blue) and N (white).
     (b) TORQUE the nuts (12) to between 168 and 144 lbf.in (1.90 and 1.63 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)
NOTE: Alternate configuration, attach the cable ends to the terminal posts with the terminal nuts with captive washer (18). TORQUE the terminal nuts with captive washer (18) to between 168 and 144 lbf.in (1.90 and 1.63 m.daN ) T.
   (2) Install the terminal block cover.
     (a) Attach the terminal block cover to the IDG with the washers (10) and the screws (11).
     (b) TORQUE the screws (11) to between 22 and 20 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.23 m.daN )

H. Do a Check of the Clearance around the IDG Cable Assembly
   (1) Make sure that there is a minimum clearance of 5.00 mm (0.20 in.) between the IDG cable assembly and the adjacent hardware.

I. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

J. Do an Idle Power Test (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-012)
   (1) Make sure that the IDG 1(2) operates correctly.
     (a) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
     (b) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page:
  • make sure that the voltage of the IDG is 115VAC
  • make sure that the frequency of the IDG is 400Hz + or - 5Hz.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
