IDG Quick Attach/Detach (QAD) Adapter (New EPGS)Subtask 24-21-41-860-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pusbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2), is in position.
Subtask 24-21-41-010-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead panel 50VU:

Subtask 24-21-41-210-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Visual Check of the Connecting Surfaces
(1) Remove the protective cover from the accessory-gearbox mounting-pad.
(2) Do a visual check of the QAD adapter (2) for damage from incorrect shipping or handling.
(3) Do a visual check of the connecting surfaces of the QAD adapter (2) and accessory- gearbox mounting-pad. They must be smooth and clean.
Subtask 24-21-41-640-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the protective cover from the accessory-gearbox mounting-pad.
(2) Do a visual check of the QAD adapter (2) for damage from incorrect shipping or handling.
(3) Do a visual check of the connecting surfaces of the QAD adapter (2) and accessory- gearbox mounting-pad. They must be smooth and clean.
B. Lubrication of the QAD Adapter Tension Bolt
Subtask 24-21-41-420-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
LUBRICATE THE QAD ADAPTER TENSION-BOLT BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE ADAPTER ON THE GEARBOX MOUNTING PAD. NO LUBRICANT ON THE TENSION BOLT CAN CAUSE INCREASED WEAR TO THE TENSION BOLT AND THE BRACKET.
(1) Apply Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) to the QAD tension bolt. C. Installation of the QAD Adapter
(a) Use a clean COTTON SWAB and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to remove the lubricant from the screw holes and index pin holes.
(b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to clean the gearbox mounting surface and QAD adapter. Wipe dry before cleaning fluid evaporates.
(2) Install the AIPC 24-21-41-01-030 GASKET (6) on the face of the QAD adapter (2). Make sure that the index pin hole of the QAD adapter, is aligned with the index pin hole of the QAD gasket.
(5) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 384 and 356 lbf.in (4.34 and 4.02 m.daN ).
Subtask 24-21-41-420-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 5. Close-upCAUTION:
IF YOU REPLACE THE QAD P/N 740123 WITH A QAD P/N 772896, YOU MUST REPLACE THE IDG P/N 740119 WITH AN IDG "NEW EPGS".
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET THE LUBRICANT STAY IN THE DOWEL PIN HOLES AND SCREW HOLES OF THE QAD ADAPTER. LUBRICANT BUILDUP CAN CAUSE THE PRESSURE TO INCREASE. INCREASED PRESSURE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GEARBOX WHEN YOU INSTALL AND TORQUE THE SCREWS.
(1) Clean the gearbox mounting surfaces, index pin hole and screw holes. (a) Use a clean COTTON SWAB and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to remove the lubricant from the screw holes and index pin holes.
(b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) to clean the gearbox mounting surface and QAD adapter. Wipe dry before cleaning fluid evaporates.
(2) Install the AIPC 24-21-41-01-030 GASKET (6) on the face of the QAD adapter (2). Make sure that the index pin hole of the QAD adapter, is aligned with the index pin hole of the QAD gasket.
NOTE: Make sure that the stripe of the QAD ring is aligned with the stripe on the adapter plate.
(3) Install the QAD adapter (2) on the accessory-gearbox mounting-pad with the screws (3). NOTE: Make sure that the words "TOP CFM" on the QAD adapter are in the top position (12 o'clock).
(4) Use a brush to apply a thin layer of Lubricant-Anti Seize Nickel & Graphite - (Material No.03PBD1) of the conical surface of the heads of the screws (3) and the threads of the screws. (5) TORQUE the screws (3) to between 384 and 356 lbf.in (4.34 and 4.02 m.daN )
