DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE THE IDG CABLES FOR A HAND HOLD. IF THE IDG CABLES ARE PULLED LOOSE IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(2) Lubricate the new AIPC 24-21-51-02-090 O-RING (42) and the new AIPC 24-21-51-02-010 O-RING (44) with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) .

B. Installation of the IDG on the Engine Gearbox
(2) Remove the IDG (1) from the plastic bag.
(3) Install the O-ring (42) in the groove of the IDG splined shaft.
(4) Install the O-ring (44) in the groove of the IDG (1) pilot diameter.
(5) Put the IDG (1) on a TMHSD10-60-00 IDG R/I.
(6) Use the hoisting mechanism to align the IDG with the mounting pad support.
Make sure that none of the weight is on the input shaft.
(7) Turn the QAD tension bolt (43) to open the QAD ring (46).
(8) Align the mark on the QAD ring with the mark on the QAD engine-adapter plate.
(9) Engage the lugs on the IDG in the openings in the QAD ring.
(a) To do this, align the " open-position " mark on the QAD with the related mark on the IDG (1).
(10) TORQUE the QAD tension bolt (43) to between 26 and 22 lbf.ft (3.53 and 2.98 m.daN )
.
(11) Lightly hit the outer edge of the QAD adapter with a soft faced HAMMER - NON METALLIC.
(12) Do a check of the tension bolt torque.
(13) Make sure that the torque value does not decrease more than 2 lbf.ft (0.27 m.daN).
(a) If the tension bolt torque value decreases more than 2 lbf.ft (0.27 m.daN), TORQUE the QAD tension bolt (43) again to between 26 and 22 lbf.ft (3.53 and 2.98 m.daN )
.
(14) Do a check of the distance between the ring lug and the bracket of the QAD ring.
(a) If the distance is less than 0.312 in. (7.92 mm) minimum, remove and replace the IDG (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040) and the QAD adapter (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-41-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-41-400-043).
(15) Safety the QAD tension bolt (43) withCP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia (Ref. AMM TASK 70-22-00-911-002).
(16) Remove the TMHSD10-60-00 IDG R/I.
Subtask 24-21-51-020-123-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
DO NOT USE EXTERNAL PARTS TO PULL OR LIFT THE IDG. IF YOU DO SO YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE IDG.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL TO SUPPORT THE IDG CORRECTLY.
YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INPUT SEAL IF:
- YOU LIFT THE IDG TOO MUCH
- YOU DO NOT SUPPORT THE IDG SUFFICIENTLY.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE IDG CORRECTLY AND THE MATING SURFACES OF THE IDG AND GEARBOX ARE PARALLEL. IF THEY ARE NOT PARALLEL, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MATING PARTS.
CAUTION:
IF YOU REPLACE THE IDG P/N 740119 WITH AN IDG "NEW EPGS", YOU MUST REPLACE THE QAD P/N 740123 WITH QAD P/N 772896.
(1) Remove the protective cover from the IDG interface side of the gearbox. (2) Remove the IDG (1) from the plastic bag.
(3) Install the O-ring (42) in the groove of the IDG splined shaft.
(4) Install the O-ring (44) in the groove of the IDG (1) pilot diameter.
(5) Put the IDG (1) on a TMHSD10-60-00 IDG R/I.
(6) Use the hoisting mechanism to align the IDG with the mounting pad support.
Make sure that none of the weight is on the input shaft.
(7) Turn the QAD tension bolt (43) to open the QAD ring (46).
(8) Align the mark on the QAD ring with the mark on the QAD engine-adapter plate.
(9) Engage the lugs on the IDG in the openings in the QAD ring.
(a) To do this, align the " open-position " mark on the QAD with the related mark on the IDG (1).
(10) TORQUE the QAD tension bolt (43) to between 26 and 22 lbf.ft (3.53 and 2.98 m.daN )

C. Removal of the IDG Terminal-Block Cover
(1) Remove the screws (28), washers (29) and the terminal block cover (27).
(2) Remove the captive washer nuts (30).

(2) Remove the captive washer nuts (30).
D. Removal of the Protections
(1) If necessary, remove the shipping plugs (19) and (18) from the oil-in and oil-out bosses, and retain them.
(2) Remove the protective covers from the oil-in (13) and oil-out (12) lines.

E. Installation of the Unions
(1) Install the new packing (17) on the union (16) and the new packing (15) on the union (14).
(2) Install the union (16) and TORQUE it to between 455 and 430 lbf.in (5.14 and 4.86 m.daN )

(3) Install the union (14) and TORQUE it to between 425 and 400 lbf.in (4.80 and 4.52 m.daN )

Subtask 24-21-51-020-125-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO HOLD THE FITTINGS WHEN YOU TORQUE THE OIL-IN AND OIL-OUT LINES.
IF NOT YOU CAN TRANSMIT TOO MUCH TORQUE TO THE IDG FITTINGS AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE IDG BOSSES.
NOTE: It is necessary to use two wrenches to hold the fittings and to apply the torque values on the nuts, not to damage the IDG.
(1) Connect the oil-out line (12) and oil-in line (13) to their unions. (2) Use two wrenches to hold and TORQUE the oil-in line (13) to between 850 and 725 lbf.in (9.61 and 8.19 m.daN )
.(3) Use two wrenches to hold and TORQUE the oil-out line (12) to between 730 and 700 lbf.in (8.25 and 7.91 m.daN )
.G. Removal of the Pressure Fill Plug and the Overflow Drain Plug
(2) Remove the pressure fill plug (11) with the packing (10) from the bottom pressure fill-port, and retain them.
(3) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the overflow drain plug (9).
(4) Remove the overflow drain plug (9) with the packing (8) from the bottom overflow drain-port, and retain them.
Subtask 24-21-51-420-174-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the pressure fill plug (11). (2) Remove the pressure fill plug (11) with the packing (10) from the bottom pressure fill-port, and retain them.
(3) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the overflow drain plug (9).
(4) Remove the overflow drain plug (9) with the packing (8) from the bottom overflow drain-port, and retain them.
H. Installation of the Pressure Fill Half-Coupling
(1) Install the new packing (5) on the pressure fill half-coupling (6).
(2) Install the pressure fill half-coupling (6) in the pressure fill-port.
(3) TORQUE the pressure fill half-coupling (6) to between 150 and 140 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.58 m.daN )

(4) Install the dust cap (7) on the pressure fill half-coupling (6).
Subtask 24-21-51-420-175-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the new packing (5) on the pressure fill half-coupling (6).
(2) Install the pressure fill half-coupling (6) in the pressure fill-port.
(3) TORQUE the pressure fill half-coupling (6) to between 150 and 140 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.58 m.daN )
. (4) Install the dust cap (7) on the pressure fill half-coupling (6).
I. Installation of the Overflow Drain Half-Coupling
(1) Install the new packing (2) on the overflow drain half-coupling (3).
(2) Install the overflow drain half-coupling (3) in the overflow drain port.
(3) TORQUE the overflow drain half-coupling (3) to between 260 and 240 lbf.in (2.94 and 2.71 m.daN )

(4) Install the dust cap (4).

J. Visual Inspection of the Receptacle and the Plugs
(1) Examine the electrical receptacle and the plugs (20), (21) and (22) for contamination in the connectors.
(a) If the connectors are dirty, clean them with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
Subtask 24-21-51-420-176-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Examine the electrical receptacle and the plugs (20), (21) and (22) for contamination in the connectors.
(a) If the connectors are dirty, clean them with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
K. Installation of the Phase Leads and the Electrical Connectors
(2) Make sure that the N, T1, T2 and T3 wire labels agree with the terminal labels (N, T-1, T-2, T-3).
(3) Install the captive washer nut (30) on each terminal block stud.
(4) TORQUE the captive washer nut (30) to between 14 and 12 lbf.ft (1.90 and 1.63 m.daN )

(5) Install the terminal block cover (27). Attach with the washers (29) and the screws (28).
(6) TORQUE the screws to between 22 and 20 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.23 m.daN )
.
(7) Remove the protective caps (23), (24), (25) of the connector.
(8) Carefully connect the electrical harness to the three electrical connectors 4000XUC (20), 4000XUA (21) and 4000XUB (22) on the IDG (1).
Subtask 24-21-51-612-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 24-21-51-865-096-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE WASHER IS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE PHASE LEADS AND THE TERMINAL BLOCK. IF NOT, THE TERMINAL BLOCK WILL BURN LOCALLY BECAUSE OF RESISTANCE HEATING.
(1) Install the phase leads (26) on the IDG terminal block. (2) Make sure that the N, T1, T2 and T3 wire labels agree with the terminal labels (N, T-1, T-2, T-3).
(3) Install the captive washer nut (30) on each terminal block stud.
(4) TORQUE the captive washer nut (30) to between 14 and 12 lbf.ft (1.90 and 1.63 m.daN )
. (5) Install the terminal block cover (27). Attach with the washers (29) and the screws (28).
(6) TORQUE the screws to between 22 and 20 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.23 m.daN )
. (7) Remove the protective caps (23), (24), (25) of the connector.
(8) Carefully connect the electrical harness to the three electrical connectors 4000XUC (20), 4000XUA (21) and 4000XUB (22) on the IDG (1).
M. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

O. Check for Oil Leaks and Check of the Electrical Properties
(1) Start engines 1 and 2 at minimum idle (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-006).
(2) Make sure that the IDG operates correctly:
On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page on the lower ECAM DU:
(4) Stop engines 1 and 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).
(5) In the cockpit, on the ELEC panel 35VU:
(a) Make sure that the EXT PWR pushbutton switch is pushed (OFF legend goes off).
(6) Stop the APU:
For GTCP 36-300: (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
For APS 3200: (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006)
For 131-9(A): (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(7) Make sure that there are no oil leaks.
(8) Do a check of the oil level at the sight glass of the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-210-046).
5. Close-up(1) Start engines 1 and 2 at minimum idle (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-006).
(2) Make sure that the IDG operates correctly:
On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page on the lower ECAM DU:
- Make sure that the voltage is 115VAC.
- Make sure that the frequency is 400Hz plus or minus 5Hz.
NOTE: If the IDG was removed after an IDG disconnection, do a GCU reset at the first engine start at idle. To do this, on ELEC control panel 35VU, push and then release the related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch.
