A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Torque Check of the QAD Adapter Tension-Bolt
(2) Do a check of the torque value of the QAD coupling bolt (2):
(a) TORQUE the QAD coupling bolt to between 26 and 22 lbf.ft (3.53 and 2.98 m.daN )
, (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(b) Lightly hit the external circumference of the QAD coupling (3) to enter it and prevent incorrect torque values.
(c) TORQUE the QAD coupling bolt to between 26 and 22 lbf.ft (3.53 and 2.98 m.daN )
, (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(d) Continue to do this sequence until the torque value does not decrease by more than 24 lbf.in (0.27 m.daN).
(3) Do a check of the distance between the ring lug and the bracket of the QAD coupling:
(a) If the distance is less than 0.125 in. (3.2 mm):
1 Replace the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-010) but let the IDG accessory hoist installed, do not attach tubes, harnesses and other components.
2 Measure the distance again
a If the distance is correct:
1 Safety the QAD coupling bolt (2) with lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-012).
5. Close-upWARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire.
- Safety the QAD coupling bolt (2) with lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-012) and remove the IDG accessory hoist, attach components, the tube and the harnesses.
NOTE: When you send the worn IDG that you removed to the work shop, you must tell them to replace the input flange.
b If the distance is not correct: - Remove the new IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-010) to replace the QAD coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-41-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-41-400-010).
1 Safety the QAD coupling bolt (2) with lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-012).
