A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable zone.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
4. Procedure(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable zone.

A. Inspection of the Static Dischargers
(1) Examine the static dischargers to make sure that:

- There is no distortion.
- There is no important damage to the covers.
- There is no corrosion on the bases.
- There is no damage to the tips.
- The screws are tight and serviceable.
- They are correctly attached.
NOTE: A small damage like cosmetic or superficial damage is permitted.
B. Bonding Resistance
(1) Make sure that the bonding resistance between the static discharger retainer and the aircraft structure is correct (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-002).
(2) For the bonding resistance between the static discharger tip and the static discharger retainer:
(a) Measure the resistance between the tip of the static discharger and the static discharger retainer (with the MEGOHMMETER 500 MOHMS set to 500 VDC) as follows:
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the bonding resistance between the static discharger retainer and the aircraft structure is correct (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-869-002).
(2) For the bonding resistance between the static discharger tip and the static discharger retainer:
(a) Measure the resistance between the tip of the static discharger and the static discharger retainer (with the MEGOHMMETER 500 MOHMS set to 500 VDC) as follows:
- Connect one probe to the tip of the applicable static discharger.
- Put the other probe against the side of the applicable static discharger retainer.
- With one lead attached to the retainer, attach the other lead to a piece of wet SPONGE or the ABRASIVE - FINE WIRE WOOL (to touch the tip of the static discharger).
- For type A, between 6 and 120 megohms
- For type B, between 6 and 200 megohms.

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
