LUBRICATION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
3. Job Set-up
Subtask 12-22-52-010-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Get access to external door handle as follows:
     (a) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the closed BULK cargo-compartment door (referred to as Bulk door).
     (b) Push the button of the external door handle so that it moves from its recess.
NOTE: Do not move the external door handle in the UNLOCK position at this time.
   (2) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) to get access to the hinge arms of the closed Bulk door.
4. Procedure
Subtask 12-22-52-640-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Lubrication Procedure
   (1) Use the BRUSH - BRISTLED to lubricate the external door handle as follows:
     (a) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the shaft of the external door handle. Refer to the lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
     (b) Remove the unwanted grease with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Use the CAN - OIL to lubricate the hinge arm bearings as follows:
     (a) Apply Mineral base Lubricating Oil-General & Water-displacing Preservative Low Temp. - (Material No.03BDB9) on the top bearing of the hinge arms.
     (b) Apply Mineral base Lubricating Oil-General & Water-displacing Preservative Low Temp. - (Material No.03BDB9) on the center bearing of the hinge arms.
Subtask 12-22-52-640-056-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Lubrication Procedure
   (1) Use the BRUSH - BRISTLED to lubricate the external door handle as follows:
     (a) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) on the shaft of the external door handle.
     (b) Remove the unwanted grease with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Use the CAN - OIL to lubricate the hinge arm bearings as follows:
     (a) Apply Mineral base Lubricating Oil-General & Water-displacing Preservative Low Temp. - (Material No.03BDB9) on the top bearing of the hinge arms.
     (b) Apply Mineral base Lubricating Oil-General & Water-displacing Preservative Low Temp. - (Material No.03BDB9) on the center bearing of the hinge arms.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Push the external door handle into its recess so that it is flush with the door contour.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
