Inspection of the MLG Shock Absorbers before Flight
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).

A. Inspection of the MLG Shock Absorbers before Flight
(1) Do the inspection procedure that follows with the applicable taxi weight that includes cargo fuel and passenger weight.
(a) Measure the H dimension for each MLG shock absorber and do the applicable steps that follow:
1 If one or two of the H dimension(s) is(are) less than 33 mm (1.2992 in.):
a Do the functional check of the MLG shock-absorber fluid-level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-32-611-004).
2 If the difference between each MLG shock absorber H dimension is more than 45 mm (1.7717 in.):
a Do the functional check of the MLG shock-absorber fluid-level before the aircraft completes five flight cycles (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-32-611-004).
3 If the difference between each MLG shock absorber H dimension is between 30 mm (1.1811 in.) and 45 mm (1.7717 in.):
a Do the functional check of the MLG shock-absorber charge-pressure at the next available maintenance check (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-003).
4 If the difference between each MLG shock absorber H dimension is less than 30 mm (1.1811 in.):
a No maintenance is necessary.
(b) If the oil replenishment or the gas charging was necessary, make an entry in the aircraft technical log as follows:

(b) If the oil replenishment or the gas charging was necessary, make an entry in the aircraft technical log as follows:
- Do the weight-on-wheels pressure H dimension check in not less than 24 hours after you lower the aircraft off the jacks (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-200-001).
NOTE: New hydraulic fluid can absorb nitrogen. Thus, the MLG shock-absorber nitrogen-pressure can decrease.
