(a) Push the magnetic plug (20) inward and simultaneously turn counterclockwise to disengage the locking device.
(b) Pull down on the magnetic plug and remove the plug.
(2) Remove the O-ring (10) from the groove and discard.
(3) Remove the protective cap and connect the 856A2502 ADAPTER,DRAIN-OIL TANK (856A2502G06).
(a) Push the drain adapter into the oil draining port and turn clockwise to lock in position.
(b) Put the CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL) below the drain tube.
(4) Drain the oil tank by opening the tap. After draining, fully close the tap and disengage adapter.
(5) Fill the tank with new oil (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-001).
(a) If you fill the oil tank with an oil which is of a new brand or type:
1 Replace the oil placard to show the new oil type or brand correctly, in accordance with new oil type or brand at next convenient maintenance opportunity AIPC 11-24-79-01.
2 For approved oils to be used, please refer to CFM vendor SB 79-0001.
(b) Make sure groove in the magnetic plug is clean.
(c) Apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the new AIPC 79-11-10-01-150 O-RING (10) and install in the magnetic plug (20) groove.
(d) Install the magnetic plug, equipped with its O-ring, on the oil tank as follows:
2 Push the plug (20) fully inward and at the same time, rotate a quarter of a turn clockwise to complete engagement of the plug keys in the keyways of the self-sealing drain plug.
3 Pull down on the magnetic plug (20). If the locking device of the magnetic plug is correctly engaged, it is not possible to pull the plug from the oil tank.
(e) Make sure that the magnetic plug is correctly sealed. No leakage is permitted.
