Fuel Depulse activated on Engine 1
1. Possible Causes
NOTE: The annunciation of the Fuel Depulse activation as a Class 3 fault has been introduced by EEC software
standard SCN 19 (Reference SB ENG 73-0197). For Pre SB ENG 73-0197 software standards, this procedure
is not applicable.

A. Job Set-up
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits

(2) On the panel 50VU, release the ENG FADEC GND PWR 1 pushbutton switch.

B. Test
(1) Adjust the brightness of the MCDU screen.
(2) Read the CLASS 3 fault report of the FADEC (1A and 1B) menu on the MCDU Ref.
AMM 31-32-00-869-002 .
(a) Make a record of the maintenance message.
NOTE: Fuel depulse is an integral part of the autostart function which is intended to enhance
starting capability. A fuel depulse does not constitute a failure as such, but indicates a
condition, which caused the compressor to stall during start.
(3) Fully decrease the brightness of the MCDU screen (display off).
4. Fault Isolation

A. If the clear language message FUEL DEPULSE ACTIVATED was set in conjunction with an exceedance
of the EGT limit during start:
· follow (Ref. TSM 77-00-00-810-930) .

B. If the clear language message FUEL DEPULSE ACTIVATED was set in conjunction with an experienced
Hung start:
· follow (Ref. TSM 80-00-00-810-819) .

C. If the clear language message FUEL DEPULSE ACTIVATED was set without observation of the above:
· do functional test of the HPC stage 7 bleed valve Ref. AMM 75-32-52-700-011 .
· do functional test of the HPC stage 10 bleed valve Ref. AMM 75-32-54-700-011 .

5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On the ECAM control panel, set the UPPER DISPLAY and LOWER DISPLAY potentiometers to OFF.

(2) On the panel 50VU, push the ENG FADEC GND PWR 1 pushbutton switch.
(3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
