3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 80-00-00-710-085-A
A. Test
(1) The fault confirmation is not applicable, the fault is known.
(2) On the engine 2, do the Test No. 3, Idle leak check Ref. AMM 71-00-00-710-012 and confirm EGT is
OK.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 80-00-00-810-071-B
A. If the EGT is not OK:
· establish wind speed and direction during start. Tail winds above 10 Knots will adversely affect starting.
(1) If no fault is found:
· establish starter air pressure, minimum 25 psi required for autostarts.
· inspect duct for leaks.
(2) If no fault is found:
· do functional test of the HPC stage 7 bleed valve Ref. AMM 75-32-52-700-011 and of the HPC
stage 10 bleed valve Ref. AMM 75-32-54-700-011 .
NOTE: For additional information on bleed valve effects on engine operation, refer to (Ref. 75-00-00
Page Block 301 Task Supporting Data) and (Ref. TSM 75-00-00-810-804) .
(3) If no fault is found:
· inspect all pneumatic tube connectors from diffuser case through bifurcation panel, through
solenoids to bleed valves, for loose fittings or evidence of leakage.
(4) If no fault is found:
· inspect electrical connectors at solenoids and EEC to confirm secure connections.
(5) If no fault is found:
· inspect solenoids to confirm correct configuration.
(6) If no fault is found:
· do inspection of the VSV mechanism Ref. AMM 75-32-42-200-010 .
(7) If no fault is found:
· do inspection of the Ignitor plugs for burning or erosion Ref. AMM 74-21-41-200-010 .
(8) If no fault is found:
· do inspection of the Ignitor plugs for correct immersion depth Ref. AMM 74-21-41-400-010 .
(9) If no fault is found:
· inspect fuel spray nozzles adjacent to the ignitors for contamination, blockage or burning.
(10) If no fault is found:
· do inspection of the HP compressor for damage Ref. AMM 72-00-00-200-016 .
(11) If no fault is found:
· replace the ACTUATOR-VSV ( 4022KS ) Ref. AMM 75-32-41-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 75-32-41-400-010 .
(12) If no fault is found:
· replace the STARTER ( 100KM ) Ref. AMM 80-13-41-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 80-13-41-400-010 .
(13) If no fault is found:
· replace the FMU ( 4000KC ) , Ref. AMM 73-22-52-000-010 and Ref. AMM 73-22-52-400-010 . [Rev.6 from Feb 2017] 2026.04.04 04:38:41 UTC
