3. Fault Confirmation

A. Test
(1) Do the Test No.3 - Idle Leak Check Ref. AMM 71-00-00-710-012 and obtain the corrected Oil
Pressure at engine idle Ref. AMM 71-00-00-860-010 .
Compare the Oil Pressure against the limits Ref. AMM 71-00-00-860-010 to determine which engine
has high or low pressure.
If further Oil Preesure readings are required:
Do the Test No 11 - High Power Assurance Test Ref. AMM 71-00-00-710-013 .
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 79-33-00-810-080-A
A. If the fault symptom is identified by the crew observation: OIL ENG1 - Oil pressure very different from that
of the other engine:
· visually inspect the oil breather mast for signs of recent oil staining. If oil staining is present:
· replace the INDICATOR-POS, NO.4 SCAVENGE VALVE ( 4006EN ) Ref. AMM 79-23-51-000-010
and Ref. AMM 79-23-51-400-010
(1) If the fault continues:
· replace the XMTR-OIL PRESS ( 4003EN ) Ref. AMM 79-33-15-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 79-33-15-400-010 .
(2) If the fault continues:
· visually inspect the stage 10 air pipework and unions to the No.4 BEARING SCAVENGE VALVE
(4006EN)
(3) If the fault continues:
· do an inspection of the magnetic chip detectors Ref. AMM 79-00-00-200-011 and of the pressure
and scavenge filters Ref. AMM 79-00-00-200-012 .
(4) If you find contamination:
· reject the engine 1.
(5) If the fault continues:
· open circuit breaker 3WW and visually check the oil pressure indication on the ECAM display.
(a) If the oil pressure indication becomes approximately the same between one of the other engine,
replace the FWC1 Ref. AMM 31-53-34-000-001 and Ref. AMM 31-53-34-400-001 .
(b) If the oil pressure indication is always different from that of the other engine:
· open circuit breaker 2WW and visually check the oil pressure indication on the ECAM display.
1 If the oil pressure indication becomes approximately the same between one of the other
engine, replace the FWC2 Ref. AMM 31-53-34-000-001 Ref. AMM 31-53-34-400-001 .
2 If the oil pressure indication is always different from that of the other engine:
· open circuit breaker 3WV and visually check the oil pressure indication on the ECAM
display.
a If the oil pressure indication becomes approximately the same between one
of the other engine, replace the SDAC1 Ref. AMM 31-55-34-000-001 Ref.
AMM 31-55-34-400-001 .
b If the oil pressure indication is always different from that of the other engine:
· open circuit breaker 2WV and visually check the oil pressure indication on the ECAM
display.
* If the oil pressure indication becomes approximately
the same between one of the other engine, replace
the SDAC2 Ref. AMM 31-55-34-000-001 Ref.
AMM 31-55-34-400-001 .
* If the oil pressure indication is always different from
that of the other engine, go to the next step.
(6) If you find no fault:
· replace the OIL PRESSURE PUMP Ref. AMM 79-21-41-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 79-21-41-400-010 .
