A. Test
Not applicable.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 79-31-00-810-068-A
A. If the fault symptom is identified by the crew observation: ENG1-Oil quantity decreases faster than on the
other engine:
· do a check of the engine oil quantity Ref. AMM 12-13-79-610-011 .
(1) If the oil level shows that the engine used too much oil:
(a) Examine the engine inlet, cold stream duct and exhaust for signs of oil leaks
1 If you find oil:
· do an inspection of the magnetic chip detectors Ref. AMM 79-00-00-200-011
· do an inspection of the oil filters Ref. AMM 79-00-00-200-012 .
a If you find contamination:
· reject the engine 1.
b If you find no contamination:
· replace the oil scavenge pump Ref. AMM 79-22-41-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 79-22-41-400-010 .
(b) Examine the breather outlet:
1 If you find signs of excessive oil:
· replace the INDICATOR-POS, NO.4 SCAVENGE VALVE ( 4006EN ) Ref.
AMM 79-23-51-000-010 and Ref. AMM 79-23-51-400-010
· replace the seal assembly Ref. AMM 72-60-31-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 72-60-31-400-010 .
(c) Open the fan cowls 437AL and 438AR Ref. AMM 71-13-00-010-010 .
(d) Open the thrust reverser cowls 451AL and 452AR Ref. AMM 78-32-00-010-010 .
(e) Examine the engine installation for signs of oil leaks Ref. AMM 79-20-00-200-010 :
1 repair as necessary.
(f) If you find no fault:
· replace the oil scavenge pump Ref. AMM 79-22-41-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 79-22-41-400-010 .
· examine the Fuel Cooled Oil Cooler (6003EM) for internal leakage Ref.
AMM 79-21-43-200-010 .
(2) If the oil level shows that the engine used a normal quantity of oil:
(a) Do a check to see if the oil quantity indication on the ENG page of the ECAM upper display unit
agrees with the oil tank contents.
1 If the two indications do not agree:
a Replace the XMTR-OIL QTY ( 4002EN ) Ref. AMM 79-31-15-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 79-31-15-400-010 .
2 If you find no fault:
a Replace the oil scavenge pump Ref. AMM 79-22-41-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 79-22-41-400-010 .
5. Close-up
Subtask 79-31-00-860-056-A
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser halves 451AL and 452AR are closed Ref.
AMM 78-32-00-410-010 .
(2) Make sure that the fan cowls 437AL and 438AR are closed Ref. AMM 71-13-00-410-010 .
Subtask 79-31-00-710-082-A
B. Make sure that the fault has been corrected :
(1) Do an idle leak check Ref. AMM 71-00-00-710-012 . [Rev.6 from Feb 2017] 2026.04.04 04:38:28 UTC
