No. 4 Bearing Scavenge Valve Position Indicator Stuck Open on Engine 2



1. Possible Causes
· INDICATOR-POS, NO.4 SCAVENGE VALVE ( 4006EN )
· EIU-2 ( 1KS2 )
· wiring from the EIU2 (1KS2) to the No. 4 bearing scavenge valve position indicator (4006EN)
· oil tubes from the No. 4 bearing compartment to the No. 4 bearing scavenge valve position indicator

A. Test
(1) Do the test No. 11: High Power Assurance Test Ref. AMM 71-00-00-710-013 .
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 79-20-00-810-065-A
A. If the test gives the maintenance message PIPES AND HARNESS OR SCAV VLV STUCK OPEN 2:
· replace the INDICATOR-POS, NO.4 SCAVENGE VALVE ( 4006EN ) Ref. AMM 79-23-51-000-010
and Ref. AMM 79-23-51-400-010 .
(1) If the fault continues:
· replace the EIU-2 ( 1KS2 ) Ref. AMM 73-25-34-000-041 and Ref. AMM 73-25-34-400-041 .
(2) If the fault continues:
· do a check and repair the wiring from the EIU2 (1KS2) to the No. 4 bearing scavenge valve
position indicator (4006EN)
· pins AA/7C to pins A/3 Ref. ASM 79-36-01.
(3) If the fault continues:
· examine and repair as necessary the oil tubes from the No. 4 bearing compartment to the No. 4
bearing scavenge valve position indicator (4006EN) Ref. AMM 79-22-49-200-010 .

B. Do the test given in Para. 3.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On the ECAM control panel, set the UPPER DISPLAY and LOWER DISPLAY potentiometers to OFF
Ref. AMM 31-60-00-860-002 .
(2) On the panel 50VU, push the ENG FADEC GND PWR 2 pushbutton switch.
(3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits Ref. AMM 24-41-00-862-002 .
(4) Make sure that the fan cowls 447AL and 448AR are closed Ref. AMM 71-13-00-410-010 .
