A. Test
Not applicable, you cannot always confirm this fault on the ground.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 79-00-00-810-051-A
A. If the fault symptom is identified by the CFDS message HMS-ENG OIL OVTMP2 and the ECAM warning
ENG2 FADEC:
· replace the ACOC ( 6002EM ) Ref. AMM 79-21-42-000-010 and Ref. AMM 79-21-42-400-010 .
(1) If the fault continues:
· examine the ACOC air ducts for blockage.
(2) If the fault continues:
· replace the FCOC ( 6003EM ) Ref. AMM 79-21-43-000-010 and Ref. AMM 79-21-43-400-010 .
(3) If the fault continues:
· replace the EEC ( 4000KS ) Ref. AMM 73-22-34-000-010 and Ref. AMM 73-22-34-400-010 .
Subtask 79-00-00-810-106-A
B. If NO FAILURE messages are present:
(1) Confirm that the associated wing tank Temperature and Level sensors are indicating the correct state.
(a) Check on the FUEL PAGE of the lower Display Unit (DU) the inner and outer tank temperatures.
· Record the tank temperatures and confirm that the inner tank is indicating less than 53.5 deg.C
(128.30 deg.F) and the outer tank is indicating less than 56 deg.C (132.80 deg.F).
(b) Transfer fuel or refuel such that inner tanks contain 1000 kg (2204.62 lb).
NOTE: This is to ensure that the inner wing tanks temperature and low Level (IDG shut off)
sensors are wet.
(c) Access the FQIS input parameter pages (refer to Para. 4.A(1) of Ref. AMM 28-42-00-740-003
and access the FQIS discrete inputs.
· Confirm that the temperature sensor positions indicate state "0"= LOW and that the IDG SHUT
OFF SENSOR and OVER FLOW SENSORS indicate state "1" in accordance with the Para.
4.C. Discrete Input Parameters Ref. AMM 28-42-00-740-003 .
1 L7 - SENSOR-LOW LEVEL, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A ( 38QJ2 ) : 1 = Wet; 0 =
Not wet - Should be state 1.
2 J2 - T1 SENSOR-TEMP, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A ( 29QJ2 ) : 1 = High; 0 =
Low - Should be state 0.
3 J8 - T2 Right Outer TEMP Sensor (30QJ21) : 1 = High; 0 = Low - Should be state 0.
4 M8 - SENSOR-HIGH LVL, RIGHT WING SURGE TK CHANNEL A ( 28QJ2 ) : 1 = Dry; 0 =
Not dry - Should be state 1.
(d) Check the status of the IDG recirculation logic as follows:
1 L4 - FLSCU-2 Sensor Failure - Should be 0 (no fault).
2 J1 - LOGIC-1 (IDG) ( FLSCU2 9QJ ) - 1 = Open; 0 = Not open (Should be 1 during engine
ground run (Open)).
(2) Perform the following trouble shooting:
(a) Perform the FLSCU commanded BITE test Ref. AMM 28-46-00-740-001 .
1 If a CFDS message, relative to one of the fuel or temperature level sensors, refer to
associated TSM task:
a If Overflow sensor 28QJ1 is reported as failed, perform (Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-812) .
If necessary, replace the surge level sensor Ref. AMM 28-46-16-000-001 and Ref.
AMM 28-46-16-400-001 .
b If Temperature Sensor 29QJ1 is reported as failed, perform
(Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-813) . If necessary replace the temperature sensor Ref.
AMM 28-46-17-000-001 and Ref. AMM 28-46-17-400-001 .
c If Temperature Sensor 30QJ1 is reported as failed, perform
(Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-814) . If necessary replace temperature sensor, Ref.
AMM 28-46-17-000-002 and Ref. AMM 28-46-17-400-002 .
d If IDG shut off sensor 38QJ1 is reported as failed, perform
(Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-815) . If necessary, replace the IDG shut off sensor (38QJ1)
Ref. AMM 28-46-19-000-001 and Ref. AMM 28-46-19-400-001 .
2 If a CFDS message, relative to the fuel or temperature sensors, is not displayed, perform
trouble shooting in accordance with (Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-818) .
3 If a CFDS message associated with the FLSCU is identified, interrogate the FLSCU Trouble
Shooting Data Ref. AMM 28-42-00-740-007 .
(3) If the level sensors show the correct state but the LOGIC-1 is indicating state 0 (Not Open)
during engine ground run, replace the FLSCU-1 7QJ Ref. AMM 28-46-34-000-001 and Ref.
AMM 28-46-34-400-001 .
(4) If the level sensors show the correct state, but the LOGIC-1 (IDG Recirculation) is indicating the
correct state, do the inspection of the magnetic chip detectors.
Subtask 79-00-00-810-106-B
B. If NO FAILURE messages are present or if FLSCU-2 is identified, perform the following tasks:
(1) Confirm that the associated wing tank Temperature and Level sensors are indicating the correct state.
(a) Check on the FUEL PAGE of the lower Display Unit (DU) tank temperatures.
· Record the tank temperatures and confirm that the inner tank is indicating less than 53.5 deg.C
(128.30 deg.F).
(b) Transfer fuel or refuel such that wing tanks contain 1000kg (2204.62 lb).
NOTE: This is to ensure that the inner wing wing tanks temperature and low Level (IDG shut Off)
sensors are wet.
(c) Access the FQIS input parameter pages (refer to Para. 4.A(1) of Ref. AMM 28-42-00-740-003
and access the FQIS discrete inputs.
· Confirm that the temperature sensor positions indicate state "0"= LOW and that the IDG SHUT
OFF SENSOR and OVER FLOW SENSORS indicate state "1"= WET in accordance with the
Para. 4.C. Discrete Input Parameters Ref. AMM 28-42-00-740-003 .
1 B4 - SENSOR-LOW LEVEL, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A ( 38QJ2 ) : 1 = Wet; 0 =
Not wet - Should be state 1.
2 J5 - T1 SENSOR-TEMP, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A ( 29QJ2 ) : 1 = High; 0 =
Low - Should be state 0.
3 K5 - T2 RESISTOR ( 42QJ ) : 1 = High; 0 = Low - Should be state 0.
4 D4 - SENSOR-HIGH LVL, RIGHT WING SURGE TK CHANNEL A ( 28QJ2 ) : 1 = Dry; 0 =
Wet - Should be state 1.
(2) If any sensor indicates the incorrect state, perform the following trouble shooting:
(a) Perform the FLSCU commanded BITE test Ref. AMM 28-46-00-740-001 .
1 If a CFDS message, relative to the fuel or temperature sensors, is displayed:
· Do the applicable trouble shooting procedure.
a If Overflow Sensor 28QJ2 is reported as failed, perform (Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-812) .
If necessary, replace the surge level sensor Ref. AMM 28-46-16-000-001 and Ref.
AMM 28-46-16-400-001 .
b If Temperature Sensor 29QJ2 is reported as failed, perform
(Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-813) . If necessary, replace the temperature sensor Ref.
AMM 28-46-17-000-001 and Ref. AMM 28-46-17-400-001 .
c If IDG Shut Off Sensor (38QJ1) is reported as failed, perform
(Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-815) . If necessary, replace the IDG Shut Off Sensor (38QJ1)
Ref. AMM 28-46-19-000-001 and Ref. AMM 28-46-19-400-001 .
2 If a CFDS message, relative to the fuel or temperature sensors, is not displayed, refer to
(Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-818) .
3 If a CFDS message, relative to the IDG control circuit, is displayed:
· Do the applicable trouble shooting procedure.
NOTE: If the Temperature sensor Dummy shows the incorrect state, confirm aircraft effectivity
in A320-28-1100, if aircraft is effective in the service bulletin, check that SB
A320-28-1100 has been completed on the aircraft.
(3) If NO FAULTS is identified with the level and temperature sensors, check the FLSCU-2 LOGIC-1
(Right wing IDG control) and FLSCU-1 sensor failures.
(a) Confirm the following is displayed: F5-FLSCU-2 LOG 1 Right IDG cooling State; 1 = Open; 0 =
Shut - State should be 1 during engine ground run.
· If LOGIC-1 state is indicating state 0 (Shut), then this could indicate a fault with the FLSCU and
it is recommended that FLSCU-2 (9QJ) is replaced.
(b) Confirm the following is displayed: C5 - FLSCU-1 Sensor failure monitor; 1 = FAIL; 0 = OK -
State should be 0.
· If state is indicating 1 (FAIL), then perform trouble shooting in accordance with
(Ref. TSM 28-46-00-810-818) .
If logic status are incorrect, replace the applicable FLSCU, Ref.
AMM 28-46-34-000-001 and Ref. AMM 28-46-34-400-001 .
(4) Do the inspection of the magnetic chip detectors.

C. After the subsequent flight, make sure that the fault does not continue.
