This procedure gives a comprehensive suite of checks for the deterioration of the pressure seals on the
thrust reverser and common nozzle assembly. It should be done to prevent/minimize engine performance
losses.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 78-30-00-810-190-A
A. Do the Aircraft Maintenance Manuel (AMM) tasks that follow to check for pressure seal deterioration and
engine performance. Make sure that all job-set up tasks are completed per each AMM task instruction
before you start the inspection.
(1) Thrust Reverser (T/R) AMM checks:
(a) Inspect the inner c-duct fire seal per Ref. AMM 78-10-00-200-010 .
(b) Visually examine the seals of the translating cowls per Ref. AMM 78-32-46-200-010 and Ref.
AMM 78-32-76-200-010 .
(c) Visually examine the hinge access panel seals and retainers of the c-duct fixed structure per Ref.
AMM 78-32-49-200-010 and Ref. AMM 78-32-79-200-010 .
(d) Visually examine the seals and retainers of the lower tracks of the c-duct fixed structures per Ref.
AMM 78-32-49-200-011 and Ref. AMM 78-32-79-200-011 .
(e) Visually examine the pressure seals of the thrust reverser halves per Ref.
AMM 78-32-49-200-013 and Ref. AMM 78-32-79-200-012 .
(f) Visually examine the plug seals of the c-duct fixed structures per Ref. AMM 78-32-49-200-014
and Ref. AMM 78-32-79-200-013 .
(2) Common nozzle assembly AMM checks:
(a) Perform a general visual inspection of the exhaust system fire seals per Ref.
AMM 78-10-00-200-010 .
(b) Visually examine the outer duct seals of the common nozzle assembly per Ref.
AMM 78-11-11-200-010 .
(c) Visually examine the inner annulus seals and retainers of the common nozzle assembly per Ref.
AMM 78-11-11-200-011 .
