3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 77-00-00-710-129-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test
Do the operational test of the FADEC 1A and 1B on the ground (with engine non - motoring) AMM 73-29-00-710-040.
NOTE: If the fluctuation of N1 is reported simultaneously on all Engines, and that the A/C is under MMEL 36-11-02 (PRV secured closed), troubleshoot per TSM 36-11-00 first.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 77-00-00-810-108-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do this procedure:
NOTE: This procedure is to be used if the crew observes uncommanded fan speed (N1) fluctuations, accelerations, deceleration or there is no response to a throttle command.
   (1) Read the Post Flight Report (PFR) and the Scheduled Maintenance Report (SMR) and/or the Class 3 Report AMM 73-21-60-740-007, and check for the following failure messages:
J7, HMU(FMVRES), ECU
J8, HMU(FMVRES), ECU
T12 SNSR, J9, ECU
T12 SNSR, J10, ECU
N1 SNSR, J9, ECU
N1 SNSR, J10, ECU
N2 SNSR, J7, ECU
N2 SNSR, J8, ECU
PS3 SNSR, ECU
     (a) If one or more of these failure messages are present:
  • Do the troubleshooting procedure according to these messages first.
     (b) If none of these failure messages are present:
  • Continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (2) Replace the T12 Sensor AMM 73-21-40-000-040 and AMM 73-21-40-400-040.
     (a) Visually examine the J9/J10 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-001:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (3) replace the HMU AMM 73-21-10-000-001 and AMM 73-21-10-400-001.
     (a) Visually examine the J7 and J8 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination and fuel wetting AMM 73-21-50-210-001.
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If fuel wetting is found:
   (4) On MCDU screen, check ECU P/N AMM 31-32-00-860-012.
     (a) If P/N prefix is 1459M55
       1 If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (5) Replace the N1 Sensor AMM 77-11-10-000-001 and AMM 77-11-10-400-001 and clean connectors.
     (a) Visually examine the J9/J10 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-001:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (6) Replace the N2 Sensor AMM 77-11-20-000-001 and AMM 77-11-20-400-001 and clean connectors.
     (a) Visually examine the J7/J8 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-001:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (7) Replace the ECU [4000KS] AMM 73-21-60-000-001 and AMM 73-21-60-400-001, if not previously replaced.
     (a) Visually examine the harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-001:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (8) Replace the J7 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-006 and AMM 73-21-50-400-006.
     (a) If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (9) Replace the J8 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-007 and AMM 73-21-50-400-007.
     (a) If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (10) Replace the J9 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-008 and AMM 73-21-50-400-008.
     (a) If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (11) Replace the J10 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-009 and AMM 73-21-50-400-009.
Subtask 77-00-00-810-108-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do this procedure:
NOTE: This procedure is to be used if the crew observes uncommanded fan speed (N1) fluctuations, accelerations, deceleration or there is no response to a throttle command.

     (b) If none of these failure messages are present:
  • Continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (2) Replace the T12 Sensor AMM 73-21-40-000-001 and AMM 73-21-40-400-001.
     (a) Visually examine the J9/J10 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-002:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (3) replace the HMU AMM 73-21-10-000-002 and AMM 73-21-10-400-002.
     (a) Visually examine the J7 and J8 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination and fuel wetting AMM 73-21-50-210-002.
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If fuel wetting is found:
   (4) Replace the N1 Sensor AMM 77-11-10-000-002 and AMM 77-11-10-400-002 and clean connectors.
     (a) Visually examine the J9/J10 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-002:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (5) Replace the N2 Sensor AMM 77-11-20-000-002 and AMM 77-11-20-400-002 and clean connectors.
     (a) Visually examine the J7/J8 harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-002:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (6) Replace the ECU [4000KS] AMM 73-21-60-000-001 and AMM 73-21-60-400-001.
     (a) Visually examine the harness connectors for damaged pins, contamination AMM 73-21-50-210-002:
       1 If damage on a connector is found:
  • replace or repair as required.
       2 If nothing is found:
  • no further action is required.
         a If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (7) Replace the J7 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-040 and AMM 73-21-50-400-040.
     (a) If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (8) Replace the J8 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-041 and AMM 73-21-50-400-041.
     (a) If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (9) Replace the J9 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-042 and AMM 73-21-50-400-042.
     (a) If the fault continues during the subsequent flights, continue the troubleshooting as follows.
   (10) Replace the J10 Harness AMM 73-21-50-000-043 and AMM 73-21-50-400-043.
Subtask 77-00-00-710-130-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Do the test given in Para. 3.A.
   (1) No additional maintenance action is required if the fault is not confirmed.
   (2) Repeat the fault isolation procedure if the fault continues.
