3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 77-00-00-710-240-A
A. Test
(1) Get the EIS (DMC1) ENGINE OVER SPD/TEMP menu on the MCDU Ref. AMM 77-00-00-710-041 .
(2) On the EIS (DMC1) ENGINE OVER SPD/TEMP menu, push the line key adjacent to N1 E1 to get the
N1 E1 OVERSPEED menu.
(3) On the N1 E1 OVERSPEED menu, do a check to see if there is or not an overspeed record.

B. Check for N1 Rotor Speed Limits
(1) Do the engine operation limits, guidelines and special procedures Ref. AMM 71-00-00-860-010 .
NOTE: You can get the overlimit/time from the exceedance report.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 77-00-00-810-178-A
A. If the test shows that N1 is more than the limit and the fault is identified by the ECAM warning ENG 1 N1
OVERLIMIT:
(1) Do a check of the LPC bleed system Ref. AMM 72-00-00-720-010
(a) Examine the actuators and lines for signs of leakage
· repair or replace as necessary.
(b) Examine the mechanical linkage for signs of interference/damage, bearing looseness or too
much binding
· repair or replace as necessary.
(c) Examine the electrical harness and make sure that the plugs are correctly connected
(Ref. TSM 75-30-00-810-803) .
(d) Examine the bleed valve for signs of damage
· repair or replace as necessary.
(2) Visually examine the air intake cowl Ref. AMM 71-11-11-200-011 .
(3) Do the inspection of the inlet cone Ref. AMM 72-38-11-200-010 .
(4) Do the inspection of the LP compressor blades and fillers Ref. AMM 72-31-11-200-010 .
(5) Examine the turbine exhaust case and common nozzle assembly for damage, signs of metal particles
and/or unwanted material Ref. AMM 78-10-00-200-012 Ref. AMM 78-11-11-200-010
· repair/replace as necessary
(6) Do a borescope inspection of the LP compressor Ref. AMM 72-00-00-200-017 and LP turbine
Ref. AMM 72-00-00-200-012
· repair/replace as necessary
(7) If the fault continues:
· replace the FMU ( 4000KC ) Ref. AMM 73-22-52-000-010 and Ref. AMM 73-22-52-400-010
(8) If the fault continues:
· replace the EEC ( 4000KS ) Ref. AMM 73-22-34-000-010 and Ref. AMM 73-22-34-400-010 .
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On the ECAM control panel, set the UPPER DISPLAY and LOWER DISPLAY potentiometers to OFF.

(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
