Not applicable, you can cause damage to the engine.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 75-30-00-810-120-A
A. Examine the inlet, the exhaust and the bleed valves for foreign material or evidence of internal engine
damage. Contact SMC engine desk if anything found.
(1) If no foreign material or evidence of internal engine damage is found:
(a) Carry out a Pressure Burner Sensor Test Ref. AMM 73-22-00-710-040 .
1 Address any CFDS messages or EEC fault codes found in Para.A.(1).(a).
NOTE: If a fault is found and corrected during one of the troubleshooting steps (b) to (h) that
follow, the subsequent step is to do a borescope of the engine, step (i). After the borescope,
carry out the accel/decel checks, step (j) and return the aircraft to service.
(b) Open the fan cowls 437AL, 438AR. Ref. AMM 71-13-00-010-010 .
ยท Open the thrust reverser halves 451AL, 452AR Ref. AMM 78-32-00-010-010 .
(c) Do a check of condition of the intermediate Pressure Check Valve (IPCV) Ref.
AMM 36-11-41-200-010 .
(d) Perform an inspection of the VSV mechanism Ref. AMM 75-32-42-200-010 .
(e) Perform a functional check of the HPC 7th stage bleed valves and associated solenoids
operation (4020KSI and 4020KS3-A only) Ref. AMM 75-32-52-700-010 using the bleed valve
test set TEST SET - BLEED VALVE (IAE2R19437) or equivalent.
(f) Perform a functional check of the HPC 10th stage bleed valve and associated solenoid
operation Ref. AMM 75-32-54-700-010 using the bleed valve test set TEST SET - BLEED
VALVE (IAE2R19437) or equivalent.
(g) Perform a detailed visual inspection if the Burner Pressure Sensor Tube for water contamination
Ref. AMM 73-22-49-220-040 .
(h) Lubricate the 2.5 bleed system Ref. AMM 72-00-00-600-011 .
(i) Perform a complete boroscope inspection of the HPC Ref. AMM 72-00-00-200-016 .
(j) Perform an accel and decel engine ground run up (Ref. JRH 2-40-64).
(2) If no discrepancies are found in the above paragraphs:
