A. Do the test as follows:
(1) Make sure that the throttle control lever is in forward idle position.
(2) Do the operational test of the Engine Interface Unit (EIU) with the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS) to confirm this fault AMM 73-25-34-710-802.
(3) Put the throttle control lever to reverse idle position.
(4) Do the operational test of the EIU with the CFDS to confirm this fault AMM 73-25-34-710-802.
4. Fault Isolation(1) Make sure that the throttle control lever is in forward idle position.
Subtask 73-25-00-810-275-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. If there is confirmation of the fault:
(1) Check the status of EIU-1 discrete input for TLA<3DEG AMM 73-25-34-860-806.
(a) if the fault is confirmed when the throttle control lever is in forward idle position, check that status of TLA<3DEG is 0.
(b) If the fault is confirmed when the throttle control lever is in reverse idle position, check that status of TLA<3DEG is 1.
(2) If the status is not OK, remove EIU-1 AMM 73-25-34-000-802 and use a PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to remove connector E at throttle control lever (8KS1).
(a) Examine the pins and sockets (contacts) for alignment and damage. Look for contacts pushed rearward into the connector face. Replace parts as necessary.
(b) Clean the contacts with contact cleaner and clean cloth per SPOP 6. Blow dry with air (at less than 30 psi) across connector face AMM 70-70-00-910-803.
(c) If damage found, install EIU-1 AMM 73-25-34-400-802 and connect connector E.
1 Do the test given in Para. 3.
(d) If no damage found or fault continues, check wiring AWM 732509.
1 For wire-to-wire short on wiring between pin C of connector E of lever (8KS1) and pin 5F of connector AA of EIU-1, if expected status is 0.
2 For continuity between pin C of connector E of lever (8KS1) and pin 5F of connector AA of EIU-1 and ground at pin A of connector E, if expected status is 1.
3 Repair/Replace wiring if necessary and do the test given in Para. 3.
(e) If no damage to wiring found or the fault continues:
1 Replace CTL UNIT-THROTTLE, ENG 1 [8KS1] AMM 76-11-51-000-802 and AMM 76-11-51-400-802.
2 Do the test given in Para. 3.
(3) If the status is OK:
(a) Replace CTL UNIT-THROTTLE, ENG 1 [8KS1] AMM 76-11-51-000-802 and AMM 76-11-51-400-802.
(b) Do the test given in Para. 3.
(4) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace EIU-1 [1KS1] AMM 73-25-34-000-802 and AMM 73-25-34-400-802.
(b) Do the test given in Para. 3.
(5) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace [4000KS] AMM 73-21-01-000-801 and AMM 73-21-01-400-801.
(b) Do the test given in Para. 3.
