Engine 2 Less than Idle

1. Possible Causes
· ACTUATOR-LP FUEL VALVE, ENG 2 ( 10QG )
· VALVE-LP FUEL, ENG 2 ( 13QM )
2 Job Set-up Information

Subtask 73-00-00-710-091-B
A. Test
(1) Read the Post Flight Report for the related ECAM warning(s) and /or CFDS message(s).
NOTE: Do not take into account ENG 2 SHUT DOWN Fault Codes that appear at engine shutdown
transition if they last less than one second (Ref. TFU 31-53-00-067).
NOTE: The ENG 2 FAIL ECAM warning is shown if the engine rolls back to sub idle (below 50 percent
N2) and the Master Lever is still ON. If the ENG 2 FAIL ECAM comes into view with the
engine not running and the master lever is set to OFF (i.e after engine shut down), please
consider the warning as spurious (Ref. TFU 77.11.00.005).
Subtask 73-00-00-710-382-A
B. Disregard the ENG 2 SHUT DOWN ECAM and ENG 2 FAIL fault messages if:
· The message is shown at the engine shutdown transition and
· The message is shown less than one second.
In this case, no maintenance action is necessary.
4. Fault Isolation

A. Low Pressure (LP) Fuel Valve Check
(1) On the ENG/APU FIRE PANEL (1WD) located on the overhead panel 20VU, make sure that the ENG
2 FIRE PUSH pushbutton switch (P/BSW) is in the closed and guarded position.
(2) On the ECAM control panel 11VU, push (in) the FUEL P/BSW to get the FUEL system page on the
ECAM lower Display Unit (DU).
(3) Make sure the ENG/MASTER 2 (2KC) switch (panel 115VU) is set to OFF.
(4) On the FUEL system page make sure the ENG 2 LP fuel valve symbol shows that the valve is closed
(amber crossline).
(5) Make a note of the valve transit time for the following actions:
NOTE: The LP fuel valve symbol shows a 45 degree amber line while in transit.
(a) Set the ENG/MASTER 2 (2KC) switch (panel 115VU) to ON and immediately observe the ENG 2
LP fuel valve symbol on the FUEL system page.
(b) Make sure the ENG 2 LP fuel valve symbol changes to open (green in-line).
(6) Make a note of the valve transit time for the following actions:
NOTE: The LP fuel valve symbol shows a 45 degree amber line while in transit.
(a) Set the ENG/MASTER 2 (2KC) switch (panel 115VU) to OFF and immediately observe the ENG
2 LP fuel valve symbol on the FUEL system page.
(b) Make sure the ENG 2 LP fuel valve symbol changes to closed (amber crossline).
(7) If the ENG 2 LP fuel valve opens or closes in more than five seconds:
· Replace the ACTUATOR-LP FUEL VALVE, ENG 2 ( 10QG ) Ref. AMM 28-24-51-000-001 and
Ref. AMM 28-24-51-400-001 .
· Replace the VALVE-LP FUEL, ENG 2 ( 13QM ) Ref. AMM 28-24-41-000-001 and Ref.
AMM 28-24-41-400-001 .
(8) If the transit time is less than five seconds:
· Continue the trouble shooting.
Subtask 73-00-00-810-274-A
B. Make a record of the ECAM warning(s) related to the ENG 2 and / or CFDS message(s) related to the
FADEC 2 system, then do the applicable trouble shooting procedure. [Rev.6 from Feb 2017] 2026.04.04 04:36:07 UTC
