4. Fault Isolation

A. Do a high power assurance run to test for leaks, test No. 11, Ref. AMM 71-00-00-710-013 .
(1) Examine all the areas on the gearbox and the angle gearbox where there are bolt on accessories,
joints and tube connections for external leaks.
(a) Repair all leaks that you find.
(2) Examine the seal drain lines from the hydraulic pump, starter, integrated drive generator and fuel
pump for seal leakage.
(a) If the seal leakage is satisfactory, the replacement of the seal is not necessary.
(b) If the seal leakage is not satisfactory, identify the seal which has leaks:
1 If the seal on the drain line from the fuel pump drive is defective:
· replace the fuel pump drive , Ref. AMM 72-60-25-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 72-60-25-400-010 .
2 If the seal on the drain line from the IDG drive is defective:
· replace the IDG drive , Ref. AMM 72-60-28-000-010 and Ref. AMM 72-60-28-400-010 .
3 If the seal on the drain line from the starter drive is defective:
· replace the starter drive , Ref. AMM 72-60-22-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 72-60-22-400-010 .
4 If the seal on the drain line from the hydraulic pump drive is defective:
· replace the hydraulic pump drive , Ref. AMM 72-60-23-000-010 and Ref.
AMM 72-60-23-400-010 .
