3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 71-00-00-710-125-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Investigate the Engine after an Engine Performance Decreased event
   (1) Using the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) test the FADEC system for any recorded faults AMM 73-21-00-710-806.
   (2) Any EEC monitored faults are transmitted to the aircraft Centralized Fault Display Interface Unit (CFDIU). The MCDU allows interactive dialog with the EEC. Use the MCDU to review the previous flight leg fault information, scheduled maintenance fault information and ground fault information. If there are any faults reported troubleshoot them first.
4. Fault Isolation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS WARNING, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
Subtask 71-00-00-810-133-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do the steps that follow:
   (1) If the maintenance messages related to the Active Clearance Control (ACC) valve failure open appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC status maintenance and/or the ECAM warning for engine FADEC system fault, refer to ACC valve mechanically stuck open - track check (Ref. TSM TASK 75-24-00-810-826).
   (2) If the maintenance messages related to the ACC valve failure close appear with the engine FADEC status maintenance and/or ECAM warning for engine turbine cooling fault, refer to ACC valve mechanically stuck closed - track check (Ref. TSM TASK 75-24-00-810-823).
   (3) If the maintenance messages related to the fuel flow meter electrical failure on channel A appear with the ECAM warning for engine minor fault, refer to mass flow meter electrical failure channel A (Ref. TSM TASK 73-31-00-810-811).
   (4) If the maintenance messages related to the fuel flow meter and Fuel Metering Valve (FMV) signal disagreement appear with the ECAM warning for engine minor fault, refer to mass flow meter and fuel metering valve signal disagreement (Ref. TSM TASK 73-31-00-810-812).
   (5) If the maintenance messages related to the fuel temperature sensor electrical failure on channel A appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC status maintenance and/or the ECAM warning for engine heat system fault, refer to FMV TFUEL sensor electrical failure channel A (Ref. TSM TASK 73-32-00-810-803).
   (6) If the maintenance messages related to the fuel temperature sensor electrical failure on channel B appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC status maintenance and/or the ECAM warning for engine heat system fault, refer to FMV TFUEL sensor electrical failure channel B (Ref. TSM TASK 73-32-00-810-804).
   (7) If there are no EEC monitored faults or messages recorded, visually inspect the engine inlet area AMM 72-00-00-210-813.
   (8) If there is evidence of contamination, clean the engine gaspath AMM 72-00-00-100-802.
   (9) If you find evidence of Foreign Object Damage (FOD), borescope inspect the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) AMM 72-35-00-290-801.
   (10) If no evidence of FOD is found, borescope inspect the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) AMM 72-31-00-290-802.
   (11) If you do not find any problems, do a visual inspection the fan duct area AMM 72-00-00-210-813. Look carefully at the fan ducts for missing seals missing or deformed panels and for damaged Fan Exit Guide Vane (FEGV's).
   (12) If you do not find any problemes, do a visual inspection of LPC 2.5 bleed system AMM 75-32-01-200-801. Look carefully for evidence of binding in the actuation system or torn/missing 2.5 bleed seals.
   (13) If you do not find any problems, do a visual inspection of the engine air systems for indications of hot gas leakage AMM 75-00-00-210-802. Look carefully at the Environmental Control System (ECS) ducts, the anti-ice ducts and the Turbine Cooling Air (TCA) tubes.
   (14) If you do not find any problems, do a functional check of the Turbine Case Cooling (TCC) air valve AMM 73-21-00-710-809.
   (15) If you do not find any problems, check aircraft ECS for any recorded faults AMM 36-11-00-740-803.
   (16) If you do not find any problems, do an engine run (if you have not done one) and a power assurance test AMM 71-00-00-710-805.
   (17) Using the Onboard Maintenance System (OMS), test the FADEC system for any recorded faults AMM 73-21-00-710-806.
   (18) If the engine performance is not acceptable, remove the engine from service.
5. Close-up
Subtask 71-00-00-860-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
