A. Do the procedure as follows:
(1) Make sure that no engine is running.
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM display units only) AMM 31-60-00-860-001.
(3) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Set the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
(4) Check that the ENG page comes on, on the lower ECAM unit.
(5) If ENG page does not come on, do the operational test of the EIU with the CFDS AMM 73-25-34-710-043.
(a) If maintenance messages about EIU internal failure and/or hardware between EIU and ENG/MODE selector switch, are identified, troubleshoot the messages.
(b) If no maintenance message is identified by the EIU test, go to the next step.
(6) If the ENG page comes or if no maintenance message is identified by the EIU test, set the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
(7) Set the ENG/MODE selector switch to the IGN/START position.
(8) Check that the ENG page comes on, on the lower ECAM unit.
(9) If ENG page does not come on, do the operational test of the EIU with the CFDS AMM 73-25-34-710-043.
(a) If maintenance messages about EIU internal failure and/or hardware between EIU and ENG/MODE selector switch are identified, troubleshoot the messages.
(b) If no maintenance message is identified by the EIU test and ENG page came when the ENG/MODE selector switch was set to the CRANK position, replace the EEC as follows:
1 For a failure at engine 1 start/crank first, replace the ECU [4000KS] of engine 1 AMM 73-21-60-000-001 AMM 73-21-60-400-001.
2 For failure at engine 2 start/crank first, replace the ECU [4000KS] of engine 2 AMM 73-21-60-000-001 AMM 73-21-60-400-001.
(1) Make sure that no engine is running.
