A. Do the subsequent checks
(a) Do a check of the APU for too much drag:
(a) Do a check and make sure that theSTARTER CLUTCH (8033KM) operates correctly :
(3) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace theFUEL CONTROL UNIT (8022KM) AMM 49-32-11-000-002 and AMM 49-32-11-400-002.
(4) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace the PILOT NOZZLES AMM 49-31-41-000-002 and AMM 49-31-41-400-002.
(5) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace theFUEL FLOW DIVIDER (8024KM) AMM 49-32-12-000-002 and AMM 49-32-12-400-002.
(6) If the fault continues:
(a) Replace the APU [4005KM] AMM 49-11-11-000-003 and AMM 49-11-11-400-003.
- Do a check of the brush wear indicator of the starter motor AMM 49-42-51-200-006.
- Do a check of the Magnetic Chip Detector (MCD) AMM 49-91-42-200-003.
- Do a check of the APU Air Inlet Duct for leaks and blockage AMM 49-16-00-210-002.
(a) Do a check of the APU for too much drag:
- Remove the
COOLING FAN/PMG ASSY (8053KM) AMM 49-52-53-000-001. - Use a socket adapter to manually turn the drive shaft of the
COOLING FAN/PMG ASSY (8053KM) , in a clockwise direction only.
NOTE: Be careful when turning the impeller.
NOTE: The torque should be to between 3.39 and 2.26 m.daN (25.00 and 16.67 lbf.ft )
. Make sure:
1 If the cooling fan does not rotate easily, do a check of the Idle Gear:
. Make sure: - You can turn the drive shaft of the cooling fan assembly.
- The APU rotors, bearings and gears do not rub.
- The APU rotors, bearings and gears do not make an inusual noise.
- If Idle Gear is damaged, replace the APU [4005KM] AMM 49-11-11-000-003 and AMM 49-11-11-400-003.
- If Idle Gear is in good condition, replace the
COOLING FAN/PMG ASSY (8053KM) AMM 49-52-53-400-001.
- Replace the APU [4005KM] AMM 49-11-11-000-003 and AMM 49-11-11-400-003.
(a) Do a check and make sure that the
- Remove the MOTOR-STARTER [8KA] AMM 49-42-51-000-007.
- Turn the
STARTER CLUTCH (8033KM) clockwise (clutch disengagement), with your hand.
NOTE: The starter motor clutch disengages correctly if:
- it disengages immediately,
- it does not rub,
- it does not make an inusual noise.
- Turn the
STARTER CLUTCH (8033KM) counter clockwise (clutch engagement), with your hand.
NOTE: The starter motor clutch engages correctly if:
1 If the starter motor clutch engages/disengages correctly: - it engages immediately,
- it does not rub,
- it does not make an inusual noise.
- Replace MOTOR-STARTER [8KA] AMM 49-42-51-400-007.
- Replace
STARTER CLUTCH (8033KM) AMM 49-42-52-000-002 and AMM 49-42-52-400-002.
(3) If the fault continues:
